If you don't think you're overdue, then don't get an induction!! Just do NST's to make sure the baby is ok. The OB should be ok with that. And, I second the recommendation to get a doula.

Ugh, 14 weeks is on the borderline for accurate dating, too. That's a pickle. I'd insist on NSTs, but I think he's going to have conniptions if you get anywhere near a true 42 weeks. Which isn't your problem and you don't need to worry about his feelings, but it's a pain. I'd just push it as far as you can.

By 14 weeks I was measuring consistantly 17 weeks. You are doing great, keep it up.

I'm so sorry you are going through this alone! Hang in there--you're doing great.

I think an OB is going to pick the earlier due date every time, regardless of whether it's the u/s or the LMP that calculates it. That's just what they do. Every pregnant woman I currently know who's seeing an OB has had their EDD moved up for some reason or another. Don't know why they're (the Drs.) so eager to rush those babies out! If you're sure of your dates, stick with it!!

My midwife was just telling me a story (unrelated to me, but we were just chatting) about one of her previous clients...she said that a diabetic in perfect health with good numbers and a controlled diet is just as low risk as anyone else and shouldn't be treated any differently in regards to expectations for a normal birth.

In other words, the fact that you're diabetic alone is not a good enough reason to induce you...especially when you're not even overdue!

Good luck, I know it's stressful to feel like you're fighting the system.
