Can I freeze banana puree?

I bought a bunch of bananas at Costco which of course went directly from bright green to brown . Should I make several loaves of banana bread, or can I freeze the puree?

Yes, you can freeze. I'm not sure if it would go well in smoothies, but frozen puree works great in banana bread. Pre-mash before freezing.

I just pull the peels off and put them in freezer bags broken into 4 or 5 chunks. I don't mash, puree or anything. Then I pull a bag out for baking and let it thaw on the counter.

They are AWESOME in smoothies. Leave it frozen for the milkshake consistancy.

The store in my village gives away brown bananas, so I use brown frozen bananas daily!

: No real prep necessary. I always make sure to have some in the freezer for smoothies -- frozen bananas, honey, milk, vanilla, berries if we have them ... heaven.

Pulling the peels off... Now why didn't I think of that? I freeze my bananas when they turn brown. Man, it is a pain to peel a frozen banana. The joke is on me!
