Toddler and dog or cat food

How bad is it if a toddler eats a couple of pieces of dry cat or dog food? My grandbaby loves to make a dash for the animal water and food whenever it's not put up. So far I don't think he has swallowed any. He eats organic Os cereal so I'm not real worried about choking.

He has a water aversion, water makes him howl. We have several people in the family with tactile issues. If he makes it to the big bowl of dog water he loves to splash his hands in that and get it all over him! Wierd. I suggested giving him baths in the dog bowl. My son didn't think my DIL would go for it.

My DH eats dog food all the time

We feed our dogs this all natural stuff so I don't freak about it too much. She's so sneaky and she's not even 2 but will go into the closet when I'm not looking for a few nibbles.

The weird thing is she LOVES IT.
But yeah, it's mostly apple/grains organic/all natural so it won't kill her.

yeah, my kid shares at least a kibble or two every time the dog is fed...she'll even run in there if she "forgot" to get some....no problems so far..

I'm guessing you meant to say DD= Dear Daughter. I don't think your hubby would purposefully eat dog food LOL. I admit to chuckling when I read that the first time!

I think 2/3 toddlers here have been caught with cat food in their mouths. Not that I've ever told them that I think they'd be grossed out!

My DS loves our dogs food too. It is a natural one as well and the dog cookies I get from whole foods. He sneaks one for himself if he can. Its really funny but they must taste okay. I try not to feed the dog unless my DS is busy w something else.

I ate dog food up until I was nearly a teen : That was before I gave to much thought to what was in it. I just loved the smell and taste. Still love the smell actually.
