Newborn screening

I had a phone call from Theo's pediatrician yesterday. He had a phone call from a geneticist at the state regarding Theo's newborn screen (the tests they do for a bunch of rare genetic disorders).

Theo had one of the tests come back positive for a possible rare metabolic disease. We had to go this morning to have further testing done to see if he does have the disease and, if so, which one of several (as the screening test is not specific). They had to draw blood (a horrible experience). The test will take a week to come back. These disorders are pretty serious. Please pray that this was a false positive.

: My baby cousin has one of the things they test for and while it was really scary in the beginning and he has to take medication every day, he can lead a totally normal life and is a happy and healthy 4 yr old. GL!

what were the follow up results? we are waiting.....waiting......waiting for ours. i am so nervous.
