On switching to all-natural...

Once you decided to take the plunge and either start making all your bathroom needs or buying all-natural products, what did you do with all of the chemical-laden stuff you already had?

(I'm talking shampoos, lotions, etc....and perhaps household cleaners, too--i've got some of that warming the closet shelf still)

Thanks, Mamas!!

While I'm a little embarrassed to suggest sending the chemical laden products on to someone else , you could donate all of that stuff to your local women's shelter or Salvation Army, etc. They probably wouldn't care a bit if the items were opened....

I used it up honestly. Some stuff - like the baby lotions that were unopened I donated or gave to people who don't care and wanted them.
Before things ran out I bought what I wanted - baking soda, vinegar, shampoo bars, etc - and replaced them as they ran out.

Used shampoos and body washes as a toilet bowl cleaner. Got the idea from someone else on this site. Worked great.

I used up what I had & then bought/made as I needed. I hated to throw the stuff away-I know I know.

Some items I used up and then replaced with natural items. Others I gave away to friends or on Freecycle. I figured the items were going to people who would otherwise purchase these same chemical products, so by giving away, I'm reducing the number of chemical cleaners being produced.

Also, some of my concerns weren't just about global ecology. Some of these chemicals in my home were making me sick. I just wanted them out of my house ASAP!!
