Vax allergy and chicken pox

My 7 year old has many allergies. Many undiscovered allergies. She has been my most likely to be sick child since she was born. At 6 months old, she got whooping cough. She had her first vax at 18 month old. She had a bad reaction. We did 2 more and her reactions were worse each time. (she now has a medical exemption). She has always been the kid to get hives, congestion and have behavioral reactions to her allergens. She's the kid who always got strep throat from first documented age 2. I suspected she had PANDAS. Every time she got sick, she has tics and sometimes night terrors that may be seizures. At 4, she had her adenoids out (she has sleep apnea), in March, she had her tonsils and the regrown adenoids removed (hoping to stop the strep infections.) After her surgery, they released her and we went home armed with prescriptions for amoxicillin and hydrocodone. She has a codeine allergy, I argued that the med was a codeine derivative- but they insisted she would be fine with this med. I also asked for another antibiotic because I beleive her to be amoxicillin resistant. Less that 24 hours later, Zeda was rushed back to the ER. She had 106 fever, was convulsing and lethargiic. She had an infection and was dehydrated. All this time, we wre also considering she had an autoimmune disorder. Tests came back fine with that. She recovered a couple days later and was released. Life went on, she seemed healthy with a couple bouts of fluishness through the next couple months.

If you are still reading, thankyou, Im getting to my point....

She was healthy, so the chicken pox came around. I exposed one kid- the healthiest one. She got a mild case of the pox. Zeda was exposed from her sister. I was expecting her to have a bad case of it. But she didnt. 7 days after exposure, she started getting tics and OCD behavior- typical of Zeda before an illness. On day 14 after exposure, she started to look quite sick. She broke out into spots in front of my eyes with hives under 4 of them- on her face and head. She looked awful. No fever through any of this. Her pox were mildly itchy and bubbled up then crusted over- but very mild and nothing like the kids we got the pox from. This is 14 days after outbreak now. She still has a few spots from the 30 or so she got. Th crusted over ones have healed and left not a mark. However, she still looks like a zombie, her eyes are still dark circles, she is still a wild mess behaviorally and her fixations and OCD continue.

The question: If this chicken pox virus was from the vaccine and not a wild case of the pox, could she be having an allergic reaction to virus as if she were vaccinated?

Or maybe her body is working so hard to fight the virus that she just isnt getting better? Or maybe she has contracted another virus while her immune system was low and she's going to get sick again? Ugh..... she is a mess right now.

Thank you for sticking with me in this post, I know I gave a lot of info but maybe you have more thoughts on this situation and I wantde to give the whole picture as it pertains to her.

Sorry, I have no info for you. But, maybe post this in Allergies--they might be more helpful to you.

My thought is no. She was exposed to pox, whether wild or from someone recently vaxed. But she was not exposed to the other ingredients, nor were they or the pox injected into her (non-typical way of exposure, which may be more risky for some immune systems).

Something atypical may be occurring in her reaction to the pox, but I doubt that it is allergic in the way that some can have allergic rxns to the vaccine.

She is probaly still fighting off the pox virus. It could be taking longer because she may be reacting to foods or environmental allergens as well. Allergies will keep the immune system busy and take resources away from the body fighting a real infection.

Have you looked into virus-fighting herbs? What about sodium ascorbate as well? How about adding vitamin D, A, and zinc?

I wouldn't think she has any reaction to vaccine stuff since she wasn't exposed to that sort of thing...but it seems her immune system takes a real beating when exposed to foreign invaders. Have you read Jenny McCarthy's book "mother warriors?' It might have some similarities in your story. HTH

My best guess would be nutritional depletion from fighting off the virus itself. I've seen subtle stuff that indicates DS has used up a lot of nutrients fighting off various stresses, for us the biggies are zinc and vitamin A, both that we're already low in and that viruses can significantly drain, but more minor players like selenium and vitamin D probably wouldn't hurt. For tics I'd assume magnesium, are you already supplementing it? My kids can use a lot.

I have no idea if the source of the CP would make a difference, it just sounded like nutritional stress based on how I think my kids handle physical stresses (emotional, too, for that matter).

All four of my kids had the chicken pox vaccines as toddlers. All four got the chicken pox. 3 of 4 had severe cases. I spit on that vaccine! I shake my fist at it! I curse it!:

It came around our Army base in '06 and we got slammed. I myself have had the pox twice in my life.
