My 3 y.o and 21 month old will eat nothing that I cook. All they will eat is yogurt, crackers, toast with sunflower butter, applesauce, baby oatmeal, and some fruits. They also drink milk. No veggies, the 21 month old will eat tyson chicken nuggets. THAT IS IT. I am so frusterated. I feel like they will never eat "real" food. I try to offer them what we are eating, but they either REALLY protest or throw the food on the floor without even trying it. I am at my wits end. I have no idea how to change their behavior. Please help! It is a struggle at every meal...I really hate feeding them I really want to provide them with healthy meals.

I can share what we do. My 28 mo ds1 is getting very um... particular and choosy (I hate the label picky as I was called picky a lot as a child. )

Smothies are the best way for us to get a good amount of veggies into ds. I can put all sorts of greens, like spinach etc. in and beets give great camoflauge color as well as great nutritional benefit! Juicing veggies and adding that to a smoothie is something we do a lot.

I make a snack platter every morning at breakfast. I put cut up fruits, veggies and dip, crackers, popcorn, craisins and other dried fruits, nuts and seeds, cheese, turkey pepperoni etc. Then I put it out until lunch time. It goes in the fridge, we have lunch and nap. I pull out the platter again until dinner.

I received a great peice of advice from many mamas on mdc. It is your responsibility to provide and offer healthy foods, and their choice to put it into their bodies.

Don't stress, keep giving them little bits of the foods you eat, offer them their healthy "staples" , and try smoothies!!!
