Pins or Snappis?

I'm just curious whether ya'll prefer pins or snappis, and why? I'm buying a few fitted diapers and I'm not sure which to do.

most ftteds have a closure aparatus built in, either snaps or velcro.

Personally, I perfer snappis for prefolds. I have tried pins a few times and I just am inept with them. They get lost in my house though so I need to buy more. I had 6 but can only find 1 now

I have some BSRBs if that makes a difference. I ordered some GMs, but don't like the the fit with the snaps.

I prefer snappies. I found I could make a better fit and they were faster to get on.

i prefer snappis.

for me they were so much faster and got a much better fit with them.

pins always seemed cumbersome to me.

I use both. The snappi is a bit faster. With the pins I can get a slightly better fit. The pins do take some practice before you get good with them.

The fitteds I have all have their own closures (either snaps or velcro)

I used snappis for a while, on prefolds, and they were fine until DD started getting really mobile around 6 months, then they snagged on everything. I tried pins a few times and never quite got the hang of them.

After that, I made a diaper belt and used that with the prefolds when going coverless around the house. I continued to use just a cover (no pins or snappis) to hold the prefold on when out of the house, and even now I find that I can tie on a big flat diaper and stick a pull-on wool cover over it and it will stay put well enough when DD (now a very active 19-month-old) is asleep. Now, for daytime out-of-the-house use, we're using pocket diaper/trainers.

My vote: Neither. Just use a cover to hold it on.

I prefer pins. Possibly just because I have had more practice with them (we don't use snappis in hospitals) but, whenever parents bring a snappi in to use I can never make it work properly. I don't plan to get any for our babies.

snappis for me but it's not a big deal to buy each and see which you prefer

I'm a lot quicker with snappis.

Snappis - faster & easier for dh to use.

Pins - better for going coverless (which we do a lot at home).

I don't use either a Snappi or pin...

That is good to know! Thanks mamas!

I prefer snappis. I guess I'm not smart enough for pins, I kept pinning myself

I like both...it just depends on my mood. I do agree with pp's that snappi's can be a bit faster at times but the fit is definitely better with pins
