Gdiaper inserts for pocket diapers?

Has anyone used Gdiaper flushable inserts in pockets? I want to try the with my BGs, but I'm not sure if they would work. Any thoughts from the mamas out there?

Why would you? I don't see an advantage.....you still have to wash the pocket - the insert might be a pain to get out and it's not like you're preventing poop from getting on the pocket - so I'm flummoxed as to why you'd want to......I must be missing something here - disclaimer - I'm 41 weeks preg and HOT!

uh ya..like the pp said, why on earth would you want to?

It is definitely a thought. And it sorta makes you understand the ease and functionality of the cloth a bit better.
But not one I would be approaching.
Thanks sharing your question.

I do it! I wouldn't except that I was given three bags of s/m inserts that we never ended up using. They languished in the cupboard for months until DS started leaking through every night diaper we tried. Doubling up on cloth inserts was jut too bulky on him when he was smaller but using one cloth insert and one gdiaper insert worked great for overnight! However now we're down to having only a few gdiapers left and I won't be buying more. The system worked really well but now that he is bigger I'll just use two cloth inserts at night.

I'd say that there are arguments in favour of using gdiaper inserts instead of cloth in some cases - especially if where you live you have to be careful not to use much water for washing but can compost the pee inserts. Some people like the gdiaper covers but if you don't, then using a pocket would be a good combo approach.

One thing to watch though - don't accidentally put a gdiaper insert into the washing machine! I've done it and it isn't pretty. I don't put the gdiaper insert in the pocket for that reason, just leave it lying in the diaper against DS's bum.

Just laying the insert in makes more sense than stuffing it to me - and easier.

Thanks for asking and sharing!

so they work ok if you don't stuff them into the pocket.... we are using more sposie's lately and I would prefer to keep using the BG OS stash I paid so much for.... IYKWIM....

I certainly do!!! - They are the only overnight solution that has worked for us.

We were getting leaks up the back even with triple-stuffed pockets.

The best solution I've found is to use a pocket diaper with a high rise (BGOS on the largest setting) stuffed with ONE MF/hemp insert and one Gdiaper flushable, folded in half and stuffed into the back half of the pocket.

Because it contains SAP, the flushable is much more absorbent than any of our cloth inserts. It also has less bulk - I was worried about messing up the curve of baby's spine with her lying on triple cloth inserts all night.

I prefer to stuff the pocket rather than lay the flushable on top because the water-repellent fabric of the pocket is much softer on my LO's tush than the paper covering of the flushable.

I always unstuff my pockets before I wash them so there is no issue about the flushable going through the wash.
