Alternative dental care?

Thread Starter
I am sure I have seen something about this on MDC before so please point me to other threads if there are any (and you know where ). I am looking for information about how nutrition affects dental health, and what one can do to keep one's teeth healthy, other than brushing etc. What about the theory that you can actually heal your teeth or at least stop caries from spreading (arrested caries)?

Anyone with info, glad to hear from you!

You probably want the Healing Cavities with Nutrition sticky at the top of this forum (I overlook stickies a lot), and/or something like the online copy of Weston Price's book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration.

I found the photographs of peoples' faces fascinating.

And there's a blog I read that discusses overall health from a similar perspective, with more focus on dental issues than is usual, but he draws in work from other people who were looking at things like vitamin D status and cavities. I had no idea there were other folks besides Price who were looking at nutrition as the biggest factor in cavities.

And searching for threads in the Traditional Foods forum would probably turn up some interesting ones as well, a subset of the Traditional Foods folks are trying to create Price-like high mineral, very high fat soluble vitamin diets.
