If you could change the immunization schedule...

If you could change the U.S.'s (or your own country's) immunization schedule...

What vaccines would you include and why?

What ones would you leave out and why?

Would the number of doses and timing be different?

I was thinking about this myself and I thought it might be an interesting discussion.

Of course if you believe in no vaccines for anyone you can state why, but I'm more interested in people who would choose some vaccinations for the public.

I would not take any vaccines out because I think there is no vaccine that I could say, to every family and every situation out there, "no, do not get this vaccine." Instead, I would give access to them all and maybe put more emphasis on the recommended aspect and give more control to the family.

Same answer as above.

Would the number of doses and timing be different?

I would want the schedule to note that the MMR is more effective if given at 15-18 months rather than 12 months. Same with chicken pox, if later it's a bit more effective.

I think also that Hep B could be moved in favor of DTaP or at least make DTaP a 2,3,4 month vaccine like they do in Russia or the like.

But again, it's more about giving greater control to the family rather than forcing anything.

So, I would not choose nor keep away any vaccines for the public, but I would think giving them more accurate information so that they can make a better choice is key.

I would eliminate the whole program because it serves only big pHARMa and imo absolutely nothing else.

I just read that Cynthia McKinney is in Jail. ???

No vaxing before 2yrs then only one shot per visit, and by that I mean if you get the MMR it has to be split into seperate vaxes as well!

I would not make vaccines "mandatory". I would make it illegal for doctors to turn away and/or fire parents who choose to delay and/or not vaccinate their children. I would get rid of the MMR, varicella and polio. I would make a separate vaccine for pertussis and make it a law for insurance companies to not harass parents about vaccinating their children. I think vaccines are a parental choice not a governmental one.
