Christmas!or any other December(ish)time gift giving celebration! - Page 3

I decided mon to knit this:

For my flower girl's birthday party on sun(decided this mon afternoon) so I haven't done ANYTHING else...I'm also knitting a little red riding hood pillow doll for my friends dd's bday and going to knit a matching cape Great ideas for 3ish year olds!!

So xmas has been stopped..but not for long hopefully!

I did think of a gift for my grandma, her dad use to play piano at the silent movies and she LOVES listening to my dh play, so I'm going to get him to do a recording of originals(him just playing), and a Christmas recording. I'm also going to give copies to my mother in law who plays christmas music non-stop from Nov-Jan lol. So with dh taking care of m-i-l and grandma that means my hands get a bit of a break

WOW!That cape is cute!

My daughter and husband are about to head out to the pool and then I will start on my "other"gifts.I did manage to get some Christmas making in this morning though.I filled the teacups with wax.Now I wait until tomorrow and top them off and then I'm done!And since the wax(and the wicks) was a hand me down I was able to make 6 gifts for about $7

Hand/body scrubs...bubble bath...food kits...the kids could turn them into candle holders by gluing tissue paper on the outsides...umm?

Nice idea!He ends up being in some pretty public places so I'm not sure how personal he would want his strap to be but...I like the idea of making him one.He was super happy when I made him a bag for his bow case(he plays bass guitar and double bass).He can't check his bow at the airport so I made him a yoga mat style bag for it.Hmmm?Maybe something else to make being on tour a little easier for him.The wheels are spinning...Thanks!

I finished the candles!.I am so excited to have this much stuff done in July!I still have a lot to go but I am never this far ahead!

I finished the cape, so now I can get one or two xmas presents started before I have to knit another birthday present. My cousin is down for the week and I'm goingto TRY and teach him how to knit a simple garter stitch scarf for his mom So I might work on a scarf at the same time. I got a beautiful purple 40% wool on sale for .50 a ball! Three balls makes a scarf. gotta love a gift for a 1.50. I've been looking for tea cups, but I can't find cheap ones, the cheapest is $3.00 each, which jsut seems like too much! I'm hoping to look at vv and salvation army soon

those are so cute!

I have only just started thinking about what do make. For my kids I am going to make little chalkboards. I made a few batches of star shaped crayon cookies with the cheap back to school crayolas that are out now for the kids in the family. I really like the travel pillow idea from one of those other threads linked. Um...maybe some new I-spy bags too.

I finished my "extra"projects this weekend.It was busy.A wonder woman costume,baby blanket,bib,teether,and a cape.I was also able to get some more Christmas stuff done.Well a little.I worked on the bacon bracelet and matching headband but I'm still not finished.

$3 does seem like a bit too much.The most I paid was $2 and they all had saucers.The least I paid was.90.

I thought so too..and the kicker was they weren't that pretty by any means. They we're chipped in the base, I'll look at salvation army.

i started a purple scarf for someone last night, one ball already knitted, super simple pattern, withbig loops soit knits up way quick! I'll prob be done it by tomorro...just to figure out who it's for

I wish I could knit or crochet.

I finished some coasters for my sister last night!I wanted to start etching some glasses for her but I was too tired and I figured etching while tired wasn't such a good idea.

I have been planning and online shopping for some supplies.... I have decided to make DD a 10 or 12" waldorf doll with pink hair. I am going to make a mermaid outfit and a fancy princess dress to go with it.

I wanted to make DS a barn for his tractors- and was planning to go with wood- but DH suggested making one similiar to an Amy Butler Weekend Bag (that I just finished for myself). I think he is right on- so I am planning the construction of that. I will probably make a second one for DS2 and put in some little wool or wood farm animals.

DD has been obsessed with fairy wings- so I was thinking of wet felting the ones out of living crafts for her and make some sort of dragon wings for DS- but anyone have any idea of a cheaper source of prefelt? That alone is like $15/set of wings. I am trying to not spend too much on thier gifts since DH wants to splurge on not just one but 2 petal tractor for Christmas and those things are super spendy.

Ooooo my daughter would be all about that doll with the pink hair and mermaid outfit!And I love soft play houses/barns.I keep thinking about some sort of soft airy house for my gal.

I was out fabric shopping yesterday and found the perfect flannel for a robe for my niece. I am excited to start on that one next but first I need to make a new cover for the changing table

UHG!My after dinner plans involve a long session with the seam ripper..I was trying to make a simple blanket for my husbands uncle and it did not go well.I have no idea why.So frustrating!

Had to giggle at the title... I appreciate the motive of inclusiveness, but you did sorta disqualify half the world's December celebrations. We do Christmas in summer in these-here parts!

I want to make something steampunky and cool for DH, but I have no idea what. And most of my family crafts better than me, so I'm not sure if I dare make them anything. Maybe a basket of vegan Christmas baking for my broke sister?
