I just saw that they've made a Lovely Bones movie! How exciting! I think it's set to come out this winter.

I don't want to be the wet blanket here but I don't know if I could watch that film. The subject matter was so depressing and the ending wasn't satisfying enough for me. I wanted something more to happen to the neighbor, KWIM.

Ditto!

With one exception I've been sorely disappointed by book to movie adaptations. Snow Falling on Cedars is the one movie that IMO was made into a great film.

I agree that it's a heart-wrenching story with a tragic ending. Might be hard to watch, but I would definitely see it.
