When are you making your 1st apt? - Page 3

I'm trying to figure out if I should look for a new OB. I've had this one for a while, but recently he tends to be a little negative and last delivery he broke my water when I didn't want him to. I think he just wanted to speed things up because he had a c-section to go to. I didn't appreciate that very much.

Other than that he's really not bad though.

I'm just wondering if I'll be able to find one that will do things the way I want more (less by the medical book). KWIM?

When I called the ob/gyn the day after my BFP, they wanted me to come in that week because "you're already almost 7 weeks" (uh, no -- just b/c my LMP was 7 weeks ago, if my cycle has been between 35 and 41 days since last prengnacy, I am NOT 7 weeks pregnant) and "that's the best time to date the pregnancy" (again, no, 8-11 weeks is the best time to date teh pregnancy. Their policy is first u/s then a week later first appt.

I scheduled my u/s for July 31, when I am confident I'll be at least 8 weeks along. However, because (1) I didn't really have a regular period since last pregnancy yet so being late doesn't mean to me that I'm pregnant and (2) I don't have strong pg symptoms (besides total absence of short-term memory and flying off the handle at everyone for everything) I keep panicking that maybe I'm not pregnant or maybe the baby died. I used my last IC to get my BFP an dordering online is only worthwhile if you need a bunch, whcih I hope not to, so I finally got to Dollar Tree and bought myself two tests. One for this past Friday and one for next Friday and then the next Friday is my u/s.

I was very, very relieved when I finally took the test on Friday and the test line showed up immediately and twice as strong as the control line (I guess it used up all the dye).

I'm not making any appointments until I start throwing up.

I do need to start doing some research. I'm not going back to the same people I saw last time. That experience was nothing but horrible.

I don't want to go in for an appointment until they can do an ultrasound and show me a living, growing baby.
