Here, too. Been trying to rationalize it as the effects of sleep deprivation, but basically I may need to have a conversation with my psychiatrist about meds. Not fair to anyone in the family, let alone myself, to let it get any worse.

Now... I've never been on unemployment, but I will gladly take this time to be with my son. So for that, I am happy.

But I am stunned in all other regards.
It bites, but better now than later, in a way. Would hate to have seen you put even more time and energy into this guy's business and then have the same thing happen. Because I'll bet it was only a matter of time--it sounds as if the way it went down was almost a set-up. Good for you for not letting him undervalue your work.

So sorry to hear that. I'm going to give it a few weeks and see if I can turn it around to try to avoid meds if I can, but you're right, if you're at that point where you feel like you need them, you should go for it.

kim - wow. I'm still in shock at how they let my dh go...similar to you, empty promises, but still working his butt off for the company...then to be rewarded with getting let go. It just makes me sad the employers that are doing this even more to people these days. Economy is bad bad bad and there are enough people losing jobs due to places shutting down I hate to hear of more circumstances of bosses playing hard ball business. It makes me wonder if they even care about their employees as people. I hope you are able to find in the end something better that will be better for you as a family and will appreciate your hard work. I'm holding out the same hope for my husband.

Oli was just fussy fussy today - he's in his nighttime sleep now while i grab some computer time hands free of baby!

I was getting a tad annoyed today at the kids. Though I started more activly trying to get 3 year old dd to pee in the potty and well...she's a stinker and would only do it when i bribed with getting to watch a dora episode. She actually did it on her own a few times - i had her in padded underpants and she pulled them down, went pee and pulled them up and went back to the dora episode. Then later when she was busy playing she said she didn't have to pee and mear seconds later told me she peed her pants. I wonder if the boy will be easier to potty train.

Thankfully Oli seems much easier than my dd. Which is a relief since i still have her to deal with daily at the same time of dealing with him.

I havent heard anything back on some applications I put in for rinky dink local evening jobs to get some more income with dh being on unemployment.

oh momma2be_k, that is horrible. I hope that you can get unemployment for a good number of months and then that a wonderful fulfilling job find you, doing what you have worked so hard to learn.

I've been so frustrated w/ DS much of the time, still am I guess, but it was good to have a chat w/ my neighbor who is a very gentle and impressive mom of 4 girls, the oldest of whom is 7. Her kids always seem so great, but she says that the middle two in particular struggled a lot with adjusting to their sibs.

I just can't seem to get back to work at all yet. I really need to and just can't find the time and motivation. I'm a grad student- good b/c its so "flexible" and bad b/c I can procrastinate like crazy...

claras mom and kim

Has anyone seen an update from fruitfulwomb? Im trying to find the thread where she said she was dealing with something big, but I havent seen an update.

Got the ok to put Sophia to the boob and so weve been trying....very slowly. First time, she screamed like I was trying to hurt her and the second time she chewed on it, looking around, like she was wondering what it was. Very funny.

Ok, off to pump then back to the hospital! Still trying to keep my thoughts positive but Im burned out, so its hard!

Kim--what a shock. That feels like a punch in the gut. I'm so sorry, but I'm impressed at how well you're taking it! I hope you get to have some great time with Parker.

Lindsay--Awesome! Funny, that sounds like what Eden does with a bottle!

Friday is one year from conception! Wow! I just realized Eden was conceived on 7/10 and born on 4/10...ten must be her lucky number!

Eh, it was going on last summer, then I got pregnant. So I've been maintaining for months, sometimes it's better, sometimes worse. I may still try to get into a better exercise regime and see if that helps any, but ultimately, I think I'll be back on meds, and I'm OK with that (10 years ago, when I had an episode of moderate clinical depression, my doc said it really sounded to her as if I probably experience chronic low-level depression).

Havn't seen anything, was she one of the ones on FB? Maybe someone should PM her?
Lindsay you have done such an amazing job being positive, let yourself feel crummy a few days when needed, you don't want to bottle that emotion up too long. Then you can get back into the positive. Yay about the boob okay!!!!

I'm glad to hear it's all normal, I have been better the last few days, been more loving to DD1 and consistant in love and logic therefor she's shown improvement too. ((hugs to us all and our children!))

Potty learning is sooo hard! DD1 has been potty learned for a year now and she has been having poo accidents the last few weeks...regression due to baby I'm guessing but as long as we ignore it and make her take care of it, she is realizing it doesn't get her attention.

Bodhitree and Claras_mom and goodmamma: I'm sorry your going through PPD. I'm so glad you both see the signs and are willing to get help in whatever ways needed. I have down days, but more good than bad and I seem to snap out of it by blogging or other ways...so thinkin just baby blues here. though I'm considering going to therapist for my saddness/empathy. Increase fish oils and take extra vit B complex too.

mommaK: that is so tough...I'm so sorry you have to go through that. You just never know. I try to remind DH not to be too loyal to his company cause no matter how family friendly they are bottom line they are still a company whos goal is makin $$$$. He's had some job offers and so far we've turned them down, but he's still keepin in contact with them incase.

N hasn't had wet/dirty diapers the last 2 nights...guess we dont' need to change her at night if she keeps this up....Dh will love this as it's his job! Anyone elses babe hold it at night????

N has been nursin a ton lately...so glad my breasts feel better...Oh and if I had the symptoms some of you had I'd a been gettin ABX too! Mine probably wasn't mast or infect since its cleared.

Eden still pees at nighht, but hasn't pooped at night since about 2 wks old.

Per last week's conversation, I've started to shed again...i didn't loose a single hair for 9 months, so this should be interesting. Eden's loosing a bunch right now, too. Mostly in the back. I was hoping since she doesn't spend a lot of time in a bucket seat or anything we could avoid that, but nope!

Bennipai, congrats on your move and escaping the heat!

Good luck to all the mamas dealing with regressing siblings. I'm wishing you patience and sanity! :

yeah.... so sorry for you and your fam! Couldn't be worse timing... did they even think about having a newborn to care for? did they ever care about us as people? it's obvious they did not. i hope your DH finds something soon....

I'm still hiding in a hole in total shock. for real. it all feels like a bad dream. I woke up last night in tears, just so sad over it all. it hurts.

i'd like to that everyone here for their hugs and good thoughts.

pj got more shots last friday but didn't really cry at all! tough little guy.
no real fever afterwards either. but for some reason he's had a low grade 101 for the last 2 days? still eating..... i wonder if it's his ears. had a lot of discharge which i mentioned to the ped. - ped looked and said they look like they were infected, but are closed up fine now. recommended some garlic drops to help sooth them and soften the buildup. i'll probably call if the fever continues.

he's 11 lbs 11 oz and 24.5" - little string bean!

i'm sick too.... blah

well.... at least we don't have to deal with the germs at daycare anymore!

Both of my girls still pee at night. Luckily Nora's night pooping stopped about a month ago.

Kim, so sorry about your job

Welcome back, Benny Pai!

We're doing well here- I'm taking advantage of a rainy morning with my husband in class to clean the house and do some filing (and shredding- luckily Nora doesn't mind the shredder sound). I'm finding it challenging to balance the housework with my husband working from home- we don't have an office, so he works in our living room. We're in a small two bedroom place, so I end up going out with the girls so he can get work done. But it's tiring and hard to be out most days with two little kids! We're looking at options right now- still hoping to move this fall, but if not we'll see if he can rent some office space. I also moved the basinette out of the bedroom so he can work at a small desk in there, too. I'm feeling irritated that the university doesn't give him an office- the whole department shares one!

Got in some excercise, during my shower P was entertaining N as she was on the changing pad naked in the bathroom and all went quiet, I opened the curtin rather fast and scared N so much! She must have been staring at the curtian, her body jumped arms flailed and she wailed! Poor girl! I'll open slowly next time!

I have a pain on the top of my foot I"ve had since N's birth...I though maybe I just sprained something but why would it still hurt 2 months later?? Sometimes it radiates into my leg...I've had it adjusted once...didn't help. Hmmm maybe should ask the doc? Didn't know I'd have a birth injury.

Breast is back to normal!!! yeah! hoping the yeasties will stay away for a while...

That's okay, I repeatedly walk Zack through the skylight sunbeam in my kitchen (by accident) and burn his retinas.
