probiotics in yogurt

I know that heat kills the good stuff in yogurt. If I make ice cream with my coconut milk yogurt, and it goes into the ice cream freezer, does that kill the good stuff too? Or because it never really freezes completely, is it still good?

I've experimented with freezing and reculturing yogurt and I've found that with the specific cultures I use, they reculture just fine if they've been frozen for a few weeks but beyond that they aren't as reliable (and so I concluded too much of the bacteria had died).

Commercial manufacturers typically use frozen culture. The heat during the incubation allows it to activate. We actually keep the cultures in a deep freeze since regular freezers tend to cycle too much and the cultures can die
