This is my first baby, and he dropped last week around 34w5d. I was wondering when other people's first babies dropped and how soon afterward you gave birth (please reply with that info!).

Thanks!

None of my babies dropped until I was in labor.

My dd was wedged up under my ribs until just before I started pushing. She was born at 42 weeks 1 day.

My baby dropped early, I believe before 35 weeks, but was not born until 42w1d. I wouldn't count on it as a sign of when you'll go into labor.

I couldn't vote cause I have no clue.

No matter what anyone described, or what I'd read on the subject, I never felt it. I'm clueless.

I'm 37w5d and my baby has been dropped a LONG time, since probably 30 weeks or earlier. I think maybe a result of my consistent chiropractic care. Both my midwife and chiropractor (who specializes in pregnant women and infants and is also a doula and natural birth specialist) say that being dropped early doesn't mean early or even 'on time' deliveyr; however, both have said that it's their experience that babies who drop early and are nicely positioned usually mean a shorter and more efficient labor. I think it's different for everyone.

Me, too. I voted 36 weeks, because I had her at 36w 4d.
