I based this solely on the fact that we went through IVF and historically have very fragile embryos - and girl embryos tend to be more resilient than boys. I feel "girlish" too.

Also, I'm kind of gunning for a girl because DH has a genetic mutation that caused our infertility, and it may be inherited (his brother has it too). While clearly it's not a show-stopper, I'd rather my kids NOT have to go through what we did.
