Between showers?

I've just found out that not everyone takes a shower/bath every day. :

I know, sheltered.

So....... because I'm interested..... what do you do in between to keep yourself fresh?? I'm a sweaty gal, summer or winter, and that's why I usually feel like I have to take a shower every day.

what I do...

I grew up watching what my Grandmother did. Use a wet, clean washcloth to clean the "creases" of your body in the AM and the PM. Start with your face and work your way down.

I do the above as well. I also no-poo, and at this point in my no-poo journey, i only clean my hair once every 3 days. I also happen to almost never smell, and i almost never wear deodorant--it's my one super-power. I personally don't like feeling like i'm cleaning what's already clean, whether it's my house or myself. I enjoy hopping into that tub feeling grimy and getting clean. It's weird.

I don't usually feel grimy by the second day. I do use a wet wipe in my underwear area, but I use cloth wipes anyway. And I usually reapply my deodorant.

I very rarely go more than 2 days without a bath. I get icky.

I pretty much stopped getting stinky when I got pregnant. I literally went over a week without showering or wearing deodorant at one point mid-pregnancy and there was no smell, no oil in my hair, nothing that I could notice. I was pregnant during the winter, so I didn't even really feel like I was getting dirt on my skin. I would wear clean clothes every day and that was it.

Now that DS is 2, it has worn off quite a bit, but I am still not as smelly as I used to be. I shower about every 3-4 days and do not notice any smell at all and I absolutely cannot stand my own B.O. I use wet wipes in the bathroom, so those parts all stay fresh and clean, and I reapply deodorant every other day or so and that's it. Occasionally if I am really walking around a ton in sandals, I will wash my feet before bed, but usually I just brush them off.

I definitely feel like a weirdo when I talk to friends who shower every day though. I just feel like my skin and hair gets way too dried now if I shower too frequently.

I sit on the edge of the tub, put one leg across to the other side, and wash my privates. Then I close the drain, get the water about 1/2" deep at that end, and stand in it to wash my feet. (I have Reynaud's Phenomenon--once my feet get cold, they won't warm up again without heat being applied--so 8 months out of the year I need to soak a minute in hot water, but it doesn't take much, just a little puddle!) If I feel I've been sweating a lot, I'll crouch down in the tub and splash water up to wash my armpits, sides, and chest.

When there isn't a bathtub available, like at Girl Scout camp, I take a wet washcloth with soap on one corner and a towel into the toilet stall. Wash with the soapy corner, rinse with the opposite corner, dry with the towel.

between showers

For much of my life I have showered every other day. Now I am no-pooing (bs/acv method) so sometimes do even less. I do almost always wash my feet before I get into bed - for some reason that feels SO good!!! And I also have cold feet a lot so it helps them to warm up before bed in the winter. In the summer, if I feel I've been sweating a lot during the day I'll wipe my underams with a wet washcloth. And sometimes in the summer if I exercise every day I do end up showering every day, but mostly just a quick rinse off, only washing my underarms and feet with soap, just rinsing everything else. I do use deodorant, but not every day.

I'm so jealous! I actually had more BO when I was pregnant, and then a different BO postpartum than before. Must be hormones, I guess.

^ My friend calls this the "whore bath"!

She's a little over the top...

I apply fresh deoderant every day but my hair is fine for many days.

I only shower 2-3 times a week. I wash my face and feet every night, as well as a wipe down using soap (when it's hot) for my armpits, between/under my boobs (why, oh why does it get so gross and sweaty there?!?!?), and naughty bits. And I'll wear a scarf to cover my hair when it looks too gross between washings.

I usually forget to use deodorant, tho, so I end up stinky far too often.

Right now, I shower maybe every other day... but every day (sometimes twice a day), I will wipe my armpits with a wet wash cloth... apply some baking soda paste and then wipe the baking soda out with the same wet wash cloth.

I will also clean my crotch area every day with a wet rag (or more often if its a particularly hot day or I'm not feeling exactly fresh).

I usually do a water only wash on my face only on shower days (unless I've been hot and sweaty). My face has a tendency to be REALLY dry (even kind of flaky in some places--like under the nose rim of my glasses)... and if I wash it every day, that seems to make it worse. Once a week, I do oil cleansing method. And on water only days, I will usually apply a little jojoba oil after getting out of the shower.

As for my hair, I typically have it pulled back in a bun or pony tail, especially in summer when it's hot. If I need it to look decent and it's a non shower day, I have a spray bottle with water... sometimes I'll add lavender EO to the water. And I comb it out, spray it, and scrunch the curls back into. I'm a no-poo girl... and I only wash my hair when my scalp feels like it needs it (I do conditioner only washes)... so maybe 1-2 times/week. Other than that, its water only on a shower day with a nice thorough scalp massage.

i try to shower every other day, past that and i feel gross. i also live in a really humid area. i have very curly hair that tends towards dry, so i don't like to wash it more than every couple of day. i try to make sure that the various areas that are more "closed in" and humid get cleaned well daily.

but, i am also very paranoid about body odor and try to check myself and also rely on my husband to be honest. i have a close family member who believes they don't smell, and it couldn't be further from the truth (and they do not bathe often enough as a result of this belief). i think people tend to be more oblivious of their own odor.

What I do between showers...

Change undies, slap on some deodorant, and call it good.

Oh, no! I hope that's not me!

I shower every day but I'm 33 weeks pg and it's Summer lol. I only wash my hair about 2x a week though. I just throw it up and wash the body. Occassional honey on the face but nothing else besides water generally.
I'm roflmao - I've done the "whore bath" many times lol.
