cavity in front tooth on 4 year old?

my 4 year old has a cavity on the side of one of his front teeth (not very middle, but the next tooth - on the top). the dentist last saw him about a year ago and said it seemed to be slow growing so it probably wouldn't be an issue before it was ready to come out anyways. we've flossed and brushed with xylitol and now a year later it looks a bit worse and this morning he says it's hurting. i'm going to call today to make an appt with a dentist here (we've moved away from the other one) but would love any input on what they might choose to do at this point. they wouldn't bother repairing a tooth that will be falling out in a year or two would they? would they pull it? would they just wait?

Consider an ozone treatment of the tooth, since it is so accessible.

Also, here is a recent post about curing cavities with nutrition: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...s#post13920419
