final confirmation that my mother is crazy

you know all those posts along the lines of was your pregnancy/labour like your mother's? I always posted absolutely not, my mother planned to wallpaper the dining room when 38 weeks pregnant with my sister and the only time I even made it to 38 weeks pregnant, I was completely unable to move.

Well on the phone just now, she revealed what she planned to do when 38 weeks pregnant with me - she planned to go caving! Fortunately the car broke down on the way!

She honestly seems to have experienced no unpleasant side effect of pregnancy, only getting bigger, though that didn't seem to cause her any back ache or anything. Oh how I wish my pregnancies were like hers.

too funny ! It is funny how our pregnancies can line up with our mother's in some cases, and in some cases, we are entirely opposite. My mother had n morning sickness, no stretch marks in any of her pregnancies. She also delivered all 6.5 lb babies, 2-3 weeks early ( 8 weeks in one case) with all of us. Going into my first pregnancy, I just figured that I wold have a mid-month baby, though I was due at the end, no morning sickness, no stretch marks. Well, right off the bat I realized that I had not inherited the anti-morning sickness gene I had horrible morning sickness with my first and third, much more manageable sickness with my second- but still more than my mom had ever had.
I thought the stretchmarks prophecy was turning out well, until two days before my first was born. I gained less than my mom had and had a healthier lifestyle, I made it to 38 weeks without a stretchmark, then bam. SO mch for that gene too ( though they didn't get worse with my 2nd and 3rd).
But the delivery time, that one worked out, and I delivered all three right at 38 weeks- though they were a bit bigger than my mom's babies. What I am really intersted to see is how much my girls will inherit from me in this way. Hopefully, they don't take after their Dad's side- a long line of c-sections and unhealthy pregnancies. I can handle morning sickness over real pregnancy complications any time
