Insomnia

Thread Starter
I haven't slept well the past few nights. I have no problem falling asleep but it's difficult for me to stay asleep. Is this a symptom of pregnancy? Or, is it just my excitement after seeing that bfp?

I feel so tired this morning :yawning:

perhaps excitement of leftover sleep disturbance from the full moon? but I just say that because I always have insomnia and have slept so well this week!

I remember feeling that way with DD2, and I've experienced it a few times this time as well. Usually it's when I wake up around 3-5ish am, and I just lay there and CANNOT go back to sleep (though I desperately want to, because there's absolutely NO Issues with insomnia during the day! ).

I'm the same way. I wake up to pee and then I have an impossible time settling down and falling back asleep. I'm already tired, and this just makes it worse!

I take a bit to fall asleep... I'll sleep GREAT for a few hours.. then I'll wake up and canNOT sleep for anything and it's terrible.

I've been going on a lot of very, very early bike rides lately. It *is* quite beautiful when the sun is just beginning to come up and the air is crisp and cool and clean...

But it sucks mid-day when I'm completely exhausted!!

This was one of the more annoying symptoms for me last pregnancy, and has already started this time. Last time, my midwife suggested that when I woke up to go to the bathroom, I go back to sleep in a different bed or on a different side of the bed. It actually worked for me, though our only other bed was an uncomfortable futon so I'd often wake up feeling sore. (But at least I would sleep. ) I'm hoping it doesn't get that bad this time.

I'm having the same problem. I doze off without a problem, but then I wake up in the wee hours of the morning and can't fall back to sleep. I was really hoping this wouldn't happen so quickly this pregnancy. My youngest was 2yrs before sleeping through the night, so I was looking forward to a few more months of quality rest before I can write it off for a couple more years!
