My dear son recently had a fever of 102-104. I bathed him in luke warm water and also rubbed peppermint essential oils on the bottom of his feet and also dabbed it on his forhead.
It seemed to really help.
i did make my dh go take a lukewarm shower but it made him shiver. his temp is about 101.5 which is not extremely high, but he does not seem to be tollerating it well. he felt like he was kind of nauseus, but did not throw up almost anything at all which is surprising since we were at a birthday bruch in the afternoon and he ate quite a bit (he did not feel really sick then, so we thought it was just a light cold). a cold washcloth on his forehead only relives a little bit. so he just finally broke and took tylenol. i am not a fan of it, but he just could not get comfortable no matter what and he neds to be able to fall asleep. it's almost midnight here, so I have nowhere to go to ask for anything else.
I would get a good homeopathy book like The complete book of homeopathic medicine, I also have Smart medicine for a healthier child. Works for aults too It has homeopathic, conventional medicine, accupressure & herb info.We have used belladona for fevers that come on quickly.
I know you may not need this anymore, but Catnip tea can be helpful in reducing fever. If you are breastfeeding then you can drink it and pass it on, or you can make a tea for your little one.
A great resource is "Kids, Herbs and Health" by Linda White and Sunny Mavor.
For good homeopathic books look up anything by Miranda Castro (Homeopathy Mother and Baby), or Andrew Lockie (Family guide to Homeopathy).
Any ailment that comes on suddenly can indicate Aconite. Aconite is the first remedy to use at the onset of symptoms. After that you can use another one if it doesn't act. It should act pretty quickly. One does not usually use Aconite in the middle or end of an illness.
Belladona is indicated for heat, redness, pain...
