What age did your boys retract their own foreskin?

I am wondering if my two older boys were just younger then most or if they were about average age. I have a brand new son and sometimes it feels like I am starting all over again.

Anyway, my oldest boy was retracting his foreskin by 2 1/2 and the second son was 3 1/2. They both started off in the bath just playing around and then one day both were like "LOOK MOM" and it was completely pulled back. My ex and I never touched it and never told them to do it, it was just out of play that it happened. Of course after that we made sure they knew to retract to urinate etc and they have never had a problem in almost 13 and 10 years.

With this little guy though, I don't want to assume he will be on the same time frame as his brothers.

The average age is supposed to be 10 but my older son was mostly retracting at 5. He was able to pull it back but it was still attached a bit. By 6 that last little bit was released and he was fully retractable. He too just showed us one day. We didn't encourage him to pull his skin back to urinate, we didn't find that nessecarry. But we did on occasion ask him to remember to pull it back in the bath. That was just to encourage him to create the habit of washing that part of himself for when he gets older.

Your sons are much younger than most. The average age for full retraction is 10 and 1/2. Few docs, even in Europe, seem to know this. No need to retract to pee. In fact, if the foreskin opening is narrow retracting it behind the glans will constrict the urethra and they will spray all over. I've never retracted to pee in 58 years. I did not teach my sons to retract to pee. Retraction for peeing seems to be based on an assumption that urine is dirty. It is clean in the healthy.

My sons have not retracted yet, but they are really young. I remember always being able to retract mine so I guess it happened when I was pretty young. I always retracted to urinate though, just a habit and it makes it easier.

Ds is 4.8y and the last time I noticed he could only retract maybe 1/4 inch or so. Like Dave said retracting to pee is not something they need to do it is a personal preference kinda thing.

DS1: I have no idea. He stopped being comfortable naked at home when dh moved in (ds1 was 8 and a bit). He wasn't retracting at that time.

DS2: hmmm...he's almost four, and it's been several months. I'd say somewhere between 3.25 and 3.5.

DS1 is 4.5 and doesn't retract. DS2 started retracting at 2.5 and for a while was loving to show everyone how it works...thankfully he has stopped doing that all the time lol. Anyway, I have not taught him anything about retracting to urinate or in the bath yet.

I was thinking about this the other day. DS is 4.5 and hasn't shown any signs of retraction.

The doctor recently discovered this (while "checking" an irritated foreskin) and was very alarmist about it, telling me he had adhesions, and it was way too tight, and that it would have to be addressed by puberty if he "wants to lead any kind of normal life"!!

Sigh, when will they learn? I didn't until I was at least 10.

My ds was fully retractable by around 2 1/2 - 3 yrs old. There was a tiny bit on one side that was ever so slightly still adhered but I think that was completely retractable by 4 yrs.

I recall I was about 6 when I could fully retract. Everyone happens at different stages and that's fine as long as doctors don't go around raising alarm over every boy whose foreskin can't retract before puberty.

Keegan is fully retractable. I noticed him retracting a little around 2 1/2 and was fully retractable within 6 months or so...
