Cookie Magazine August cover story

Hello, it's been a long time since I've visited here but I have something to share.

I got a free subscription to Cookie magazine with some internet order back at Christmas (garnet hill, I think?) ANYway, , the latest issue came today and I actually decided to read the cover article because the mom & baby looked so sweet (and the page number was right on the cover, which pushed me over the edge with the convenience of it all, lol)

Anyway, it is a feature on Vera Farmiga. Those articles always are full of photos of mom & kid(s) wearing outrageously expensive clothes, with everything identified by store & price in the captions, but the short piece on Farmiga's experience with motherhood (her son is 6 months old) did have some substance, as well.

On the last page, there were 8 little bulleted one-line answers to things like "most humbling parenting moment" or "my guiltiest pleasure."

For "My proudest parenting moment," she supplied: "Leaving Fynn 'intact.'"

Coming upon that information was such an unexpected surprise, and it gave me a quick rush of happiness! So nice that she thought of that (out of everything) for her answer, and sweet that she feels pride in that decision. (I can relate, after having had my twin boys last year. I still get a flash of joy and satisfaction that we made a decision we can feel so good about.)

I almost called my husband at work to tell him (I thought better of it and resisted the urge -- he has no idea who this actress is for starters, and the news can wait until he gets home, lol) but I decided to post here instead.

P.S. Her most humbling parenting moment was "Breastmilk leakage while filming romantic scenes with George Clooney."

That's great I think the best part about that is besides the fact that she's a celeb. And besides the fact that she called it her proudest moment it was the use of the word 'intact' the mrs that show up in print and elsewhere the better because it normalizes the word in general parlance.

: I love to stories like that.

That's good to hear someone talk about it in such a positive light in such a mainstream magazine. But it doesn't come close to making up for the wretched article they ran last year on circumcision. I was so disgusted after reading that that I regretted having a subscription, even though it was free. Needless to say, I certainly didn't renew it when the time came and all other issues went straight to the trash.

Wow, thats great. I know if I was ever famous I would totally try and bring it up when I had kids. Like kinda try and create a funny story around it, so I could tell it on a late night show and they would then air part of it in those little teaser clips. That would be awesome. haha

According to wikipedia she was married to a French guy, so that probably had something to do with it:

Here it is: http://www.cookiemag.com/entertainme...?currentPage=2

I remember hearing about the bad circ article in the same magazine last year, so it's good to have this, I wish there was more on it! Some people probably don't even know what intact means (and it's in quote marks), but I hope they look it up.

She's from a European background as well.

I wish she'd talk about it in other places!

Yay for her! (and her son) I don't think anyone other than us is going to notice or take note of this though

and...it comes nowhere near making up for that horror of an article from a few months ago.:
