Any type of rice, hot or cold.

How do you like it best? :

There is no bad rice.

I love plain buttered rice. Or in gumbo--that's really my favorite.

Another we really like is butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, parsley, and thyme.

I like it with tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, taco seasoning

I also like it with tons of pepper or some curry powder.

Before I found out about nasty dairy allergy I occasionally liked it with milk, sugar and butter :

When I am cooking it I like to use some coconut milk, cinnamon, cardamom and tumeric instead of just plain water. :

I like to cook it in tea rather than water;
ex: jasmine,
a fruit flavor to compliment a meat or fish entree,
a real grassy green for rice to use in a stir fry,
etc.

I've never heard of such a thing, now I totally want to try it! Does it work with an electric rice cooker? Just use tea instead of water?

I love it with butter and Parmesan cheese.

I like to make fried rice with onions, carrots, garlic, veggies, soy sauce, egg, and other stuff depending on what's in the fridge.Tomatoey Mexican rice is good too and I like cilantro lime rice . I also love rice and beans. If we have some left over, I make a sweet porridge with milk, honey, warm spices and dried fruit. I I love rice, it's one of my favorite foods! we probably eat it 2-3 times a week.

Butter and chicken broth.

We also love fried rice but don't eat it very often!

Usually I'm making fried rice. It's one of the few ways I make rice at home. Garlic, onions, ginger, toasted sesame oil, kale and then whatever else I have on hand (I love kale in fried rice though - if I don't have kale, I don't make it).

If I'm going all out Mexican flavor dinner, then I might make "Spanish" rice with chile powder, a little tomato, onion and chicken stock.

Or I like it plain covered in (Thai) curry.

Leftovers often get turned into rice pudding/porridge.

I do love Plov, but it's a pain to make, involving cutting up a whole chicken (or leg of lamb), browning it in the bottom of a pot with veg, adding rice, spices and liquid on top and then braising it until the rice is done. Stir the whole thing up and it's a yummy one-pot meal. But it's a pain (and makes a BIG batch), so I might make it once a year.

When we eat it with something (like stoufee, gravy, gumbo, beans, etc), we just eat it plain.

When it is a side dish, I use half chicken broth, half orange juice, and a couple tablespoons of chopped onion. Add some salt, and that is about it. SO GOOD, unbelievably so. I have even done couscous this way...everyone seems to enjoy it.

I like cilantro lime rice too.

I also like mexican rice. I cook it in vegetable broth, and mix it with diced tomatoes, green chilies, onion, black beans, corn and some garlic.

I also like curry rice.

And 4 cheese rice (I usually use parmesan, mozzarella, provolone and asiago)

most of the time I eat it plain... DH and the kids love soy sauce (no matter what our main dish is) but I don't care for it.

I used brewed tea instead of water; equal amount; I do it both stovetop and in an electric rice cooker; tea leaves are edible so you can throw them in, too, if it works with your dish

you can do the same with couscous, quinoa, any grain at all

the flavor is very subtle but can add a nice element to your dishes

I love to eat Japanese rice with a raw egg dropped in the middle and stirred around, and a bit of soy sauce. Yum!

Sometimes I add a bit of dried spice, something that I will be using in the accompanying dish. Often it's dried basil or cilantro.
