You have lots of options...for front/back carries, look into mei tais, buckle carriers and woven wraps.

i agree: u have lots of options & some of it will be just yr preference.

i'm 5'1" 115lbs and my DD is 6 mo. and 25% in weight/height so this may be of help:

by this weight, the baby bjorn is OUT. hurts my back.

LOVE LOVE the ergo. i'd read it's big for some petite women but fits me perfectly on the smallest settings. (i'd considered & do not have 1sthand experience w/beco butterfly 2, babyhawk, and pikkolo.)

moby wrap. totally adjustable and w/some practice - wonderful. though quickly being replaced by the ergo in my case.

maya wrap ring sling. not for me b/c it puts the weight on 1 shoulder so is disbalanced on the body. good for occasional shorter-time-period help w/hip carry & such.

Personally, I'd say your best bet for long-term use and overall ease/options would be a carrier like the Beco or the Ergo. Which one will be a personal choice, though I examined both and tried both, weighed pros/cons of both and decided on the Beco. I'm almost identical to your size, and I don't for a minute regret my choice. The Beco has been a highly versatile carrier, meeting all the needs you've listed.

I am 5'4" and 160 lbs, so similar to your size. I personally love wraps the most, but they are more difficult to learn to use than a Mei Tai or Soft Structured Carrier. Mei Tais are fairly easy to use and very comfortable. Soft Structured carriers are faster but not as versatile.
