Don't let them tell you that your baby is too big, birth weight estimates are notoriously inaccurate and even if she is that big your body is not going to make a baby that is too big for you to push out. So don't worry about that 
As for the 42 week deadline, if that is what your midwife needs to stick to make it known to her that you want to try every natural option before resorting to the pitocin. The others on this thread have already mentioned many great ways to do this.
As I have recently discovered though through my own birth, which didn't turn out at all the way I wanted and ended in a c-section; even if things don't work out how you want and you do have to resort to these things, the end result will still be that you will have your beautiful baby and there is NOTHING better than that
