Diaper bag with pouch?

So, DD2 (6 weeks) seems to like the Maya adjustable pouch sling best, and that's working oout very well, except:

How do you carry a diaper bag with a pouch? And, what kind of bag? Messenger? Tote?

I've always used a backpack (actually, the Ergo one), but that isn't working at all, whether on one or two shoulders.

I have a small sling bag that works really well w/babywearing. It's easy to get on and off (has a clip on the strap) and it's adjustable to go over or under any carrier used on my front or back. I'll have to find a pic to show you what it looks like. I wear it across my body, usually with the bag portion on my lower back (but it can be worn to the side or in the front).

I have always simply used a Hotslings pouch with DD. Plus, I have always just used my own large hand bag as a diaper bag. So, DD was/is on one side with my bag on the other side.

If you have a long enough shoulder strap on the diaper bag, you can put baby in the pouch first, then put the diaper bag diagonally across your body with the shoulder strap resting on the opposite side of the shoulder where the pouch is resting. Just make sure the strap doesn't hit baby in the face!

There are a couple of diaper bags that work really well with slings and carriers. The OnBag and the Go GaGa both stay on the shoulder really well. But it's doable with other types of bags, as long as they have enough shoulder strap adjustability.
