Adorable video: Swedish Baby is all tuckered out

Has anyone seen this video with the adorable Swedish baby just dozing off to sleep right at the kitchen table?

FB Video - Baby falling asleep

The little guy is all tuckered out

Also, an interesting little tidbit--the video became so popular that it was picked up by Kleenex as part of their Anti-Viral tissues ad. Smart parents for keeping the video camera rolling!

I don't find that funny.

Why didn't the parents put that poor baby someplace safe to sleep? Falling asleep at the table is dangerous and uncomfortable. And while it sounds like someone was doing the dishes, someone ELSE was moving the video camera. So there was someone else there who could have picked up that baby, snuggled him, and let him drift off to sleep somewhere peaceful, warm, safe and comfortable.

Yeah, my first thought was...poor baby! He's obviously exhausted and they just kept filming. That's cruel, not cute (although the baby is absolutely adorable.)

Then, when his head and neck snapped back...:

The baby looks like CGI to me...not a real baby.

In the original (longer) clip you can see that they start out feeding him, and he just decides to doze off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=an0eAHIma98

No disrespect to the OP, but I felt bad for the little guy.

It's cute.

I used to watch a 2y/o little boy who would do the same thing almost as soon as he was at the table. I tried moving lunch & naptime up by 20 minutes (he was already eating at 11am) but it didn't matter- as soon as he was at the table with a little warm food in his belly he was OUT! Trying to clean him up was fun- he was much messier than this spoonfed little guy.

I'm going to actually move this to the media forum, since it's more about the video than about parenting a baby.

I've watching my DD fall asleep in her high chair before. After a long day of hiking she couldn't stay awake during dinner. It's cute to watch and I felt no guilt taking pictures while it happend since every other night of her life she is nursed or rocked to sleep followed by a solid hour of cuddles before she is put in her bed. She's three and is still rocked to sleep. Normally when a baby is upset they will let you know, he wasn't screaming or crying for attention, why not have a little fun???

The head bob isn't too uncomfortable. After all, I've spent the last three years of my life sleep deprived because of how much attention I give my children, doing the head bob while I nurse or rock my babies to sleep is a common thing, I don't think it'll hurt them to feel it once or twice.

Oh for pity's sake, it's cute.

Both of my kids did this when they were that age, a lot. Stomach full of lunch, and before I knew it their heads were bobbing and eyes were drooping.

The absolute funniest was my daughter who actually fell asleep with a handful of food on the way to her mouth.

I've got pictures of each of them asleep in the high chair, faces covered with food.

I think the baby falling asleep is cute The thing that is not cute is that they keep spooning food into his mouth the whole time.

Oh, well report me to CPS then, mine's fallen asleep with rice up her freaking nose. It's HILARIOUS. Now she's asleep on the couch... well, her head on the couch, feet on the floor, in a strange position... I was hoping to get an earlier bedtime started. Sorry, we don't do "perfect" here.

Whoa - no need to get so defensive!

Some kids can and do fall asleep anywhere. Others, like my DD, can't do that. She never has. The kid has once in her life (34 months) fallen asleep lying on the couch, and she wasn't feeling well at the time. She just can't sleep wherever. So for her, falling asleep in the highchair would mean completely exhausted, totally overtired, and her needs have been ignored.

So I just don't see it as funny to use that type of video as a way to sell a product. Yes, it's cute, but why not put the camera down and put the poor baby to bed?

In the full length video of course Dad does take the baby out of the chair, then the video ends.

He is cute, but I must say my first reaction was to want to take him out and hold him. He's just so tuckered.

True - so a happy ending for the tuckered out little guy. I say good for the parents for keeping the camera rolling. Now they'll have a nice start to a college fund for their baby
