mulberry tree

While it is fun to collect the berries this tree is dropping all over half my yard they do attract losts of bugs and the purple poop of the birds that LOOOOVVVEEE them. Also if my kids play on that side of the yard they are stained purple for days. Does anyone know when I can expect this tree to stop dropping fruit? It is actually in my neighbors yard but drops them right over our fence. There are tons of them and I have no idea how to get to them all. We can not rake them up or even try to pick them all up. Both myself and my neighbors are renters so there is very little chance of getting anyone to trim it back. I would be grateful for any tips!

You can't clean up the mess, but, you can get them all out of the tree.
Get together with your neighbor today or tomorrow, and spread sheets and or tarps all around under the tree.
Have someone get in the tree and shake it real good till all the berries are out.

Then : put those berries in the freezer for smoothies and pies :

That exactly. They're really hard to pick out of the tree, but shaking them onto something works well.

We have 2 very large ones and between the birds and squirrels and their purple poop and the kids get purple stained feet, there's purple everywhere!
