Bella Ella :) - Page 4

Hey chickie. I hope things are going okay with you and Ella.
I found this little tidbit of interest which I though you may be able to put to use...
From this site:
Quote:
COBALT (Co)

Cobalt interacts with the metabolism of iron and increases haemoglobin concentration in the erythrocytes. It is the metal in the prosthetic group of Vitamin B12. It forms a part of the enzymes b -lysine isomerase and glycerol dehydrogenase.
I was thinking maybe you and Ella perhaps have too MUCH cobalt hence the reaction to B-12?
I haven't read any of this thread and I hope you get this.

Hmmm - DS just had an awful, hyper reaction to methyl B12. I think he overmethylates, not under like most people.

What supps does Ella react worst too? Do any of these sound familiar - taurine, GABA, SAMe, DMG/TMG, B6, methionine?

JR, that's interesting about B12 and cobalt too - DS was high in cobalt on his hair test...

thank you for thinking of us.
i havent ever even thought anything about cobolt, hmmm...that's interesting JR. how are you? how is your beautiful fam?
mamafish, ella reacts to almost anything herbal that i've tried mostly. i havent supped any of the others (because of random ingredients she cant have) but she did fine with methionine. i was actually just going to try taurine.
we're definitely doing better, thank you for asking . ella's on ketoconazole for yeast and started flagyll for the clostridia in her intestines yesterday. i am not at all thrilled about the meds, but i feel confident that we have to try them in order to possibly avoid anything more invasive like a colonoscopy. i am stuffing probiotics down her throat and bf her as much as humanly possibly hoping to replenish her gut flora which will be wiped out by the antibiotics im sure. yesterday she had a ton of diahrrea which i'm hoping is a good thing and not a complication from the flagyll.
she is eating 4 foods with an additional shaky 1 so we are certainly better off than we were. im still sleeping in her crib more hours than not though, but i dont mind as long as she seems ok (i took to climbing into her crib with her because i was having to hold her in the glider every night so that she could sleep - she wont sleep in our bed. i know, it's ridiculous!). her poop has been formed and brown for the past 2 weeks mostly, so that is nothing short of a miracle.

Hey Margo- how are things going these days? I haven't been around MDC for a while, so I have no idea if you've posted... but I haven't heard from you in a while, so I wanted to check in.
