She died for her right to cover... - Page 2

I don't understand how any court could have allowed this to happen. How did the man even bring a knife into the court building? How was he allowed to get anywhere near her once he was found guilty of a crime? Or was this only a civil case? But that still brings me back to my first question- how on earth did he get a knife into the court building to begin with?

I can beleive that her husband was shot because things were chaos and that one might have truly been an accident- although it's also possible the police officers themselves were anti-Muslim. But it just seems to me that the court was negligent in providing basic safety protocols, at least compared to NYS courts that I've attended.

Regarding the perception of an anti-Muslim bias in the overall disineterest of the news media, though ... are very many non-Muslim, non-Coptic, non-Egyptian Americans familiar with the Muslim/Coptic clashes that periodically spring up in Alexandria, Egypt? I'm guessing not ... it's usually back page news if that. Disturbingly often it seems to start with someone getting stabbed. And the non-coverage is pretty even regardless of the religion of the person who bore the weapon.

I think a much fairer point could be made about media disinterest in non-Western or perceived to be non-Western victims than one about religion itself. I alone could cite a dozen relevant examples off the top of my head with Muslim instigators who no one cared any more about than this German man, because the victims weren't the right people either.

Hmm, I think though the big diff between what occurred in Seattle and what occurred in Germany is that here in the USA differences are tolerated and by standards will stand up for someone who is being wronged because of this. In Germany, like other European countries they despise foreigners or locals who look like they might be foreigners (even German and French converts have problems), esp those from the Middle East...
I cant help but blame the fact that no one in the German court stopped the man from stabbing the women in front of her husband and son...well, maybe thats why!

I can personally tell ya'll...next summer if we travel through Europe...no way am I going to Germany or France...they are just too rude to Muslims. I dont need that.

I suppose I am guilty of assuming muslim in germany means being of non-german heritage/appearence. I just can't imagine how a "pregnant woman being stabbed to death in court by the defendent she had accused and in front of her child" can possibly not be the "right person" to get attention in the news. If you removed all ethnic and religious references it really doesn't change a single element of the horror of the story. IMO it only explains the omission in news reports.

And yes, there are far too many people who die injust & horrible deaths anonymously and unrecognized.

I did not hear about that murder.

My heart goes out to the entire family.

IMO,The only time the media reports a story regarding Muslim women is when they are fighting NOT to wear their cover.
