Is this legal? My Dad hurt his arm at work and is currently out on worker's comp. It's been about two months, he's working closely with the doctors and physical therapists trying to recover, he wants to return to work ASAP. They just found out the employer stopped his medical insurance. When they went to get prescriptions filled the pharmacy told them. The employer is telling them to apply for cobra. But it seems like it should be illegal to drop medical coverage when an employee is unable to work due to an on the job injury.

They've been struggling financially and this is just such a blow. I feel really helpless. What if any options do they have? Any suggestions?
