baby's skin is going really down hill since getting roseola 9 weeks ago.

The baby had roseola, or 6th disease, 9 weeks ago. I didn't realize what it was at first but someone, I think mama moose, told me it sounded like that and I really, strongly believe it was. She had had a fever, then the rash, it was mostly on her trunk, and although it didn't look like it at first, ended up w/a mottled look that I saw in pics online. And it was flat. I kept waiting patiently for it to go away. I was so surprised when I looked up my original post a about it and saw how very much time had passed - she shouldn't still have it.

It didn't used to bother her, but now it is, she has scratched her shoulder bloody. There isn't much of a rash per se, but her whole back and her upper chest feel totally like sandpaper. And now she has what looks to be some eczema on the back of one of her knees. I know for a fact she got two bunny crackers on two different days recently (one each day) but I can't believe that is the cause.

we've been off of CLO and now I have us both on it again. I'm taking 2 tlbs per day, one in the am, one in the evening. I also took 1 tbls of flax oil today. Otherwise, I don't know what to do. I know we need a more diversified diet. I have liquid zinc but not sure if it has corn in it. I got back on my pre/post natal (supernurtrition) as well.

Any suggestions? I'd like to post pictures, life is extremely chaotic around here, not sure if I'll get to it.

I've been thinking of restarting the digestive enzymes as well, though I don't know, I don't have any eczema, but I know she'd get them through me then.

Hmmm, not a single reply.

Since restarting CLO at the very high dose of 2 TBLS per day, and giving the baby herself about 1 tsp per day, baby's skin is moving in the right direction, getting softer, patches fading. But now my two nurslings both have a ton of bruises, but curiously I don't. So I'm cutting back the CLO to1 TBLS per day.

It sounds like you're on the right track. We couldn't tolerate CLO because of bleeding, but T's skin is WAY better on an EFA supplement. And I know that D and zinc are really key for her skin and overall health.

I thought I had a liquid zinc in my fridge, but can't find it! I could never figure out if it had any corn in in though, in the preservative. Maybe I should just buy another. We have a zinc-based think creme that I ordered online, and I am also putting that on her skin - she absolutely loves it. She got into it herself the other day while I was talking on the phone and slathered up herself, especially her bald head, and my black capris. Then I realized we had to high tail it to the hfs to get coconut milk before it closed so we went looking like a couple of freaks.
