Disappearing Posts

Last night I posted a "quick reply" to a thread in the Nighttime Parenting forum. I typed my reply, clicked on "submit" or "post" (I can't remember now exactly what the oval button beneath the message window is called) and watched the screen refresh and display my reply at the bottom of the thread. So I assumed my post was complete. This morning, I went back to the thread to see who else had posted and discovered my post had disappeared. This has happened to me three times lately...am I the only one experiencing this phenomena? Is there something I'm not doing right? I've posted on this board lots of times, using the same technique, but lately it seems like hit or miss whether or not the post actually stays on the thread.

It is likely an maintenance issue, which we will be doing soon so we can update again.

I noticed some posts by other posters disappearing. The other night I was reading a forum and there were a couple threads I wanted to read. I read one, then went back to read another and it was gone. At first, I thought it was just that people had been posted on threads more recently so it was bumped down in the list, but I scrolled through 3 pages (back to posts that were last updated in May) and couldn't find it.

I hope the maintenance update brings back the missing posts!

If threads or posts are disappearing then those are likely being removed. There should be a removal notice for removed threads.

Please feel free to pm a forum moderator if you are wondering about a certain thread.


I just meant the OPs specific issue might be a maintenance problem, it looks like you posted something but then it doesn't go through all the way somehow..

I haven't had any issues with anything I've posted disappearing.

And I didn't see anything about threads being removed in the forums I was in. (I can't remember which forum it was as I was browsing through a few fora, but it was on Friday night.) If it happens again, I'll let you know. :-)

There was a thread I posted in in Blended Families that disappeared without a notice. Does that mean it wasn't removed?

I don't see that a recent post of yours was deleted. Do you recall which thread it was? Is the thread still there?

No, the entire thread is gone. I can't remember exactly what the thread was titled - something like OCD, Bipolar, Depression and Anxiety - and it was discussing a mother who had these issues. I'm guessing it was deemed offensive (though the tone of the replies was polite), but there was no notice, so I wasn't sure.

When I look at my "see all posts by this user" I don't see my most recent posts (but still over 24 hours old. Specifilcally I p[osted in lactivisim yesterday, and it shows up in the forum, etc (so I know it wasn't closed or removed ) but it doesn't show up under my user id. Not a big deal, but thought I would mention it incase others are having the same kind of problem.
