I would like to trial dd with coconut milk that is *just* coconut milk. I can't find any in my store that don't have additives. Does such a thing exist? Thanks!

If you can get your hands on an actual coconut, you could make it yourself.

Here is a link on one way to do it (google search for more): http://www.coconut-connections.com/coconut_milk.htm

okay so after reading about how to make your own coconut milk I realized something---when something calls for a can of coconut milk I shake the can and use all the liquid in there--am I suppsoed to be scooping out the "creme" on top and then using the liquid below? man! I give it to my DD whose 1 too--is the creme for fat for her or should I just give her the below "milk" ?!

If I did that, I would only have about an inch of non-cream remaining. I figured it was supposed to all go together. So I have been shaking the cans before opening.

There aren't really 2 substances -- coconut cream and coconut milk -- in there. There are 2 substances -- coconut particles and water -- in there. The coconut particles are supposed to be distributed throughout the water, I thought.

Agreed--it just separates naturally--shake/stir or blend prior to using--all of it is good!

Actually, I have been using this as my milk replacer in our non-dairy house--it's been working great! http://www.thenourishinggourmet.com/...ilk-tonic.html
