How to travel with detergent?

Thread Starter
We will be gone for a week and I am trying to decide about taking the cloth or just getting disposables. Just not sure about the bulk of packing the cloth (we'll be flying and I need room in my suitcase for more than just pockets!), but we will be able to wash so that's good. I thought I remembered reading something about how you can poor the needed amount of detergent onto towels/rags to take with instead of taking the pure liquid? I can't find the thread now, can someone tell me if you have experience with this?

I've never done that, but do put liquid detergent into a 1/2 litre screw-top Nalgene bottle...now that I don't drink out them anymore in favour of Klean Kanteen, it works very well for this purpose!

I've never tried the towel technique, but it sounds interesting! I've generally bought detergent when I arrived.

I have taken mine in an empty water bottle, just buy vinegar when you get there since it's so cheap.

I have done both, taken cloth and used disposbles...you have to weigh on how much time you want to spend on your trip and how much room you have. It is what makes you feel good too...I find that if I am going to the trouble, I would rather take good food, than hassle with cloth diapers. But, I have 3 kids....
