When I got home from vacation last night I found that someone has gifted me with a starving puppy and kitten. Both look to be about 6 months old. I'm not sure if they came from the same person or if I have 2 "friends."
I have no problem keeping the kitty as he/she (haven't checked yet) can live happily in the barn with the other two cats we have. They all seem to get along and Smoky (I already named him/her) seems happy.
However, the dog is a huge problem. I already have 4 dogs (bloodhound, bassett, rescue cocker and a rat terrier) and absolutely do not want another dog. I do not have the space for her, and do not want her, but do not have anything to do with her. We live in a very rural area with no animal control, hence the drop off gift. She seems sweet, but you can see every bone in her body and I am highly suspicious that she is covered in mange. I of course fed her and gave her water, but am at a loss as to what to do next. I guess when I take the rat terrier to the vet tomorrow I will ask him if he can maybe take her. Other than that I just don't know.

that people do this. I feel so sorry for her. All she wants is love and petting, and is whining at my front door as I type. People can be so heartless.
