Headaches?

Anyone else dealing with persistent headaches post partum?

Generally speaking, I"m really prone to headaches, though I only had 3 during pregnancy. Since I popped though I've been dealing with a headache almost every day. Is this normal PP stuff, or just my body getting back to it's annoying normal?

I am also prone to headaches and had very few during pregnancy. I've had several in the past two weeks though. I found relief, briefly, with a chiro visit, but I am thinking there must be a hormonal component as well. I hope they end soon. I didn't sleep well last night even though Remi did- because of a headache. My go-to headache med is Excedrine, but the caffeine seems to bother Remi so I won't take that again unless I absolutely need to.

Did you have a spinal or an epidural during your birth? I had awful headaches after my second pregnancy, and I believe that the cause was the spinal I had during my c-section. It is a relatively common side effect.

Other ideas:

- dehydration
- hunger
- pinching a nerve in your neck due to nursing/sleeping positions
- sometimes wearing your baby in a certain way can also pinch nerves over time, leading to headaches

I hope you get some relief soon!

me too, I'm pretty sure they are coming from neck issues, thankfully they aren't full blown migraines, which I suffered with before becoming pregnant, but they went away when I got pregnant and haven't come back!

No meds during delivery, but I've had a headache for most of the last 5 weeks since she was born. I'm attributing to not getting enough sleep, food, or water because I'm busy with the babe.

Nursing makes you much more prone to dehydration, which can cause headaches.

Also check your blood pressure if you had any problems whatsoever with this during pregnancy. Mine took a long time to get back to normal after the Pre-E and one of the symptoms was headache.

Hope you feel better soon.

Headache's gone, thankfully. I had close to high BP during pregnancy, but it went back down to my normal (rather low) levels within a few hours after my section.
