Hi mama's!

Okay so with my Ds I had borrowed my friends OTSBH and I loved it!!!!! Ds also loved it when he got to be about 8 months I bout a Kozy I absolutely love it I know you can safely hold a newborn in it but is it better for them to be in a sling???? To me a sling seems to have a more natural form for a baby?

Also what rings sling or any sling would you reccomend?

thanks!

I love my blue celery sling. It is really comfortable and soft for both of us. It has 3 pieces of fabric, 2 loops of fabric and 1 longer piece. I purchased at 1.5 months and used the 2 loops that created a pouch for the baby, but I noticed that you could use 1 loop for a newborn sling.

I think it just depends on what your baby likes. My daughter HATED the cradle hold (in a pouch, a ring sling, and a Moby). She loved being upright though (in the Moby), a lot like how a baby would be in the Kozy.

That looks just amazing now just how do I convince my fiance that even though we have a Kozy we needto spend that much money on another carrier???? ohh how I want that sling now that I saw it it look sooo supportive and comfortable!!! we will end up with it you just wait and see :

The blue celery is good- but keep in mind it's a stretchy one, so it won't be good once the baby is more than around 15 lbs. You can definitely use the Kozy for your newborn. Lots of babies prefer being upright, and I found it easier to maintain DSs airway in a good position when he was really little and floppy. In a cradle hold in the sling you need to make sure he is not 'chin-to-chest' as that can compromise his airway. If you need to, you can put a receiving blanket or two under the baby's back to get a better position on the sling.

I loved my Kozy for a newborn! There's nothing wrong with an upright, tummy to tummy position for newborns -- as a PP said, many actually prefer it to a cradle position, and I actually think it's safer in terms of protecting the airway from a chin-to-chest position that can easily occur in a cradle position in a sling.

The key is to make sure she's high and snug against you, with her body at or above your waistline and the top of her head kissable if you bend your neck. Give a good bounce and tug on the top straps to get the slack out, and tie securely over the middle of her back, not under her rear.

The Kozy is so versatile, you can even do a high back carry with a small baby and get your hands free -- totally liberating!

There are good instructions on the Kozy site.

Honestly before spending money on a new carrier that won't last you that long anyway, I'd check out the Kozy site and practice the different carries you can do with a newborn, because you'll get better use and longer wear out of the Kozy than you will a stretchy pouch/loop system.

I love my Kozy and bought it when Ds out grew the OTSBH and plan to use it again I even brought it out and had my fiance wear Ds on his back to show him how safe and strong it is and Ds still loved it and wanted to go for a walk with him in it I never really thought it would be safer to have a newborn upright verses a cradle hold!! I have looked at the Kozy site I hope I feel safe enough to put him on my back by myself how perfect for cleaning! when he'll be older I can freely do so but so tiny : I need someone to help! I may rethink it and maybe get another Kozy or similair carrier I wonder if there is a possible way to cradle hold a newborn in a Kozy and info on that would be wonderful!
