Do you know this song?

It was a song I remember from sometime in my childhood, so anywhere between 20-30 years ago. It was about why there are no unicorns, because they were all playing in the rain when Noah was loading the ark and didn't get on in time.

TIA

You guys are awesome, thank you!!

My 17yo DS told me tonight he remembered me telling him this story when he was really little about why there aren't unicorns (I can't believe he remembered, I barely did) and he didn't believe me when I told him I got it from a song! Now I can play it for him.

Love that song! My father-in-law put it on a CD of funny kid-friendly songs he burned for my kids.

I love that song too--- I have it on an Irish Rovers cassette (probably should upgrade that to a cd!)

I still have the old Irish Rovers record. I don't even have a record player anymore...

As someone else mentioned, The Irish Rovers do a good version. Shel Silverstein wrote a lot of songs for surprising people "A Boy Named Sue"/Johnny Cash. Waylon Jennings liked his songwriting ... all these macho guys had that playful side in their music.

For the record, when I sing the Unicorn Song, my youngest gets mad. His tastes are kind of on the dark side. I walked him to sleep singing The Long Black Veil the other night.
