~~Waddle Through the Week 7/13-19~~ - Page 3

Thx for all the advice. In the end I stayed home...the box of lox and bagels arrives tomorrow. I have to say I feel pretty lame but I am intending to go up there and see her in September.

Sorry so queasy! I'm definitely getting dizzy a lot, especially when I'm standing still. And I'm requiring almost constant sustenance. Poor DB is my personal chef.

Had my appointment with my mw's consulting ob practice on Tuesday. I'm all clear for an out of hospital birth! : Now I'm just waiting for the results of the GBS test.

I would love to see the new Harry Potter movie, but the trip to Tuesday's appointment was an hour and a half each way. I was so uncomfortable on the long drive and I'm having a hard time imagining sitting in a theater through a 2 and a half hour movie.

I'm 37 week tomorrow!

We have a carseat, though it is not yet installed and I should probably wash the cover.

I do not yet have anything from my list of birth supplies. Our mw requested that this be done no latter that 37 weeks. I was hoping to go shopping today, but I still have so much to do here and we are suppose to clip turkey wings tonight so that we can let them out on pasture. I don't want to keep them penned up any longer than necessary. So I guess I'll go shopping tomorrow.

And since I don't have our birth stuff together, I certainly haven't gotten any postpartum supplies together/order them.

I also still need to wash the baby's clothes and order some nb prefolds and covers.

I have been putting off nesting. This weekend some of our friends are throwing us a farm house work party, to try to get us in our house before our baby is born! : I'm holding out in case I can nest in our new house. It won't be finished, but if we can get our certificate of occupancy we can at least move in.

Hang in there everyone!

Anyone else have a big weight gain all of a sudden?

I had my 36/37 week appointment yesterday (moving to weekly appointments! ack!) and I'd gained 4 lbs in the last 2 weeks. My care providers aren't worried, but I had a big weight gain at the end with dd1's pregnancy and it makes me really nervous when anything mirrors that pregnancy (since it ended in a really traumatic labor and emotionally difficult c/s). So... how are the scales treating other August mamas?

I still need to install the carseat for the babe... we're going to try and make one of our existing seats fit so wish us luck! We really can't afford another Radian right now and we certainly can't afford a different car so this has to work. A friend is a car seat tech but she can't come help with the actual "fitting" (she'll check the final fit though) so at least we'll know if the mess we make is legit and safe for all the kiddos.

I've got total heart burn/indegestion if I eat more than a few mouthfuls at a time, and it wakes me up at night. Ugh.

I'm getting ready to go to the airport this afternoon - flying to my brother's wedding on the other coast! I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow (or today, depending on how you count). I'm not nervous about flying, or flying this late, really, although I do feel like over the past week my body has started the getting ready to go into labor process - looser bowels, twingy feelings in the lower uterus, etc. Wait at least 1 more week, baby

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I gained 3lbs in a week, it was all water weight.

I had my 38 week appointment last night and had gained 4 pounds in a week. Everything else looked good though, so no worries.
I have not checked my weight. I fear getting on the scale, gained 40lbs or almost already! Never gained that much before. My a$$ and hips have expanded so much, I hate it honestly.

My dh is in Baltimore. We seem to have some new or continuing sickness. Tummy upset, cold, snot, gooky eyes, WTH? My 10y/o broke some toes and my 4y/o bumped the side of her eye on the buggy somehow and now has two black eyes!

I mopped the kitchen AND the bathroom today. I'm pretty damn proud of myself hahaha.

Um...what do I have to do.....
get the rest of my dipes in the mail, wash and dry them and put them away
screen at least three more shirts to put up for sale
fold baby clothes. BLAH
general decluttering
red raspberry leaf tea
alfalfa
buy a few more newborn long sleeve shirts

I think that's it?

I've been gaining steadily for months now. I average about 3-4 lbs every 2 weeks.

I can't believe babies have started coming in our DDC! That means all of us will be holding our little ones fairly soon. Wow!!!

We had our home visit yesterday and all cleared for the home birth as I am 37 weeks today. There are still a few things we need to buy but nothing that we can't live without. Seeing babies born makes me realize it can happen any time but yet I am convinced I will go to 40 plus. It will be a shock if this baby comes early. Really not prepared for that.

Other than that my mood is spiraling down and I am reaching the weepies. Until yesterday I was just cranky but I am feeling a change. Last night I was going to cast on a sweater for DS1 that I have been looking forward to making. (if you are on ravelry it is "George" by Martin Storey) The pattern booklet is out of print but I found it on e-bay and was super excited to get it. So, I got the yarn out, found my needles but I couldn't for the life of me find the booklet. I went into a complete meltdown and still feel really upset about it. I know it has to be here somewhere but I have no idea where. I will be tearing the house apart looking for it. i know my reaction is partially hormonal because I am more upset about this than I was about loosing the center stone in my wedding ring (pre pregnancy)
Aw, sorry about your wedding ring. I love my diamond once and actually found it a week later! We did have insurance on it, but it was an heirloom. I hope you find Geaorge as well

I got a b-12 shot yesterday and think I am having more energy. I have a new swimming friend that I will swim with today. I feel like I have energy. We are going to clean the house, get ready for the baby, go on a picnic today, and then tomorrow I have a toddler and newborn shoot (wish me luck!) and then a free prenatal massage at the massage college here (yay!). I am hoping for a happy, relaxing weekend.

I am noticing that I am wanting to go more inside, be more reflective and less active. I started the hypnobabies cds the other night, so I am not sure if tha tis one of the side effects? I used to meditate every day and do retreats every summer, but since I have had a child that practice is dwindling. But, maybe the baby is somehow showing me how she wants me to prepare the enviornment for when she arrives?

I can't wait to meet her! Her energy is starting to get really strong. I can really feel her presense. Is anyone else feeling this same thing? It is almost like she is starting to wake up from a very deep sleep. It makes me so happy, and a little relieved, as I have worried a lot about how much my anxiety in the first two trimesters effected her.

yesterday I cleaned like a mad woman. lol Today I am still looking for things to do but I have already did them so I am debating on bringing out baby clothes and re washing...

I gained 4 LBs 2 weeks ago which was all water weight because last week I lost a pound and I lost another one through this week so.. Seems nice that I am loosing weight lol but its just my swelling.

Dh Thinks that next saturday will be the "big Day" he is just guessing but it will be interesting to see if he is right. He usually is right with things like this for some reason.

Although I am dialated to a 4 and it is rather uncomfortable. One day I will feel fine and then the next day I feel crampy and like I could go at any minute. I am so confused lol!!

Ohhh I forgot to tell you guys that they threw a baby shower for DH at his PT job. I was floored. it was so nice of them. They had cake and gave him $100 gift card to Target. Perfect timing cause I was just about to push send on an order at Amazon. It is pretty unheard off around here to have a shower for your second and even more so to have one for the daddy. Even more surprising it is not an office full of old ladies, it is a pretty hip young ad agency. Sooo, color me beyond surprised and super happy. Now to decide how to spend the money It would be nice to get something cool and not spend it on breast milk storage bags and stuff

I know no one really wanted to go early and no one is talking aobut that anymore anyways, but here is something I just found....
35 vs 40 weeks

Hi Mamas,
Well... I'm exhausted. Just spent the night in the hospital bc I was borderline being in labor (contractions every 2-5 minutes for hours, dilated to a 4). Didn't sleep at all due to contractions that weren't very productive (i.e. at 9:30 am I'm still at a 4). Contractions tapered off this am (finally) and now I'm home resting. I'm 36 weeks and a few days. I'm thrilled baby is still inside cooking, but am frustrated bc I'm exhausted.

sounds like prodromal labor - annoying, non productive contractions that happen mostly at night. It can go on for a week or longer. Hang in there!

Hang in there everyone!

Totally nesting this weekend... I wrote up a to-do list on Friday and we've actually been working our way pretty methodically through it. I have to fight to keep my focus/temper though since I completely understand that DH isn't hormonally driven to clean/organize/prep... and since I am I've been getting all worked up when DH sort of gets off track from the all important list.

But there's been a lot of organzing and silly stuff so it's gotta be the nesting
