I've taken to sleeping on my back on top of my body pillow, but sort of falling off one side, if that makes sense? I usually have to have a pillow on the other side to support my belly, but positioned that way, my hips/shoulders don't get too sore from laying on my side all night, but I'm not completely on my back and can still breath. The other tip I picked up in a thread about pubic bone pain was to do about 5 good gluteal squeezes right before you get out of bed. Sometimes this works for me and sometimes it doesn't, but when it does I can magically get out of bed with no pubic bone pain!

Thanks for the sympathy re: the landlord thing. For some reason hearing other people be as shocked and appalled at his behavior as I am is so satisfying. We talked to MIL a couple of hours ago to see how her drive here is coming, and apparently the whole LL thing has gone nuclear. He sent her a letter and is claiming that the 2 day limit is for the duration of the whole contract. So she's already used up her 48 hours on the property and is therefore banned from coming at all. We don't think he has a legal leg to stand on, first of all, like I said earlier, it doesn't anywhere state any limitations on the frequency of guests, and secondly the lease says "a maximum of 2 nights" not 48 hours, so clearly, it's only overnight guests that count, and he can't ban her from coming over to attend my birth on the basis that she's used up all her hours. We are of course checking with a lawyer to make sure, and if for some reason he can ban her from the premises we'll be sending a letter tomorrow notifying him of our intent to vacate and end the lease. And then we'd have to find a new place and move in ASAP before I go into labor. I just can't believe it. I'm shaking and my face is flushed. This started out as a simple, common landlord/tenant dispute over the other apartment, not the one we're renting, and he feels justified in trying to force me to hire someone else as my midwife?! I'm really trying hard to not let all this ugliness invade my emotional space, as I just don't want it interfering with the birth, but I think it's going to take some serious work on my part.

Angleorum, I cannot believe your landlord is being so vindictive. Its really strange that he cares so much to make life difficult for your MIL. And like you said, its really just making it harder on you at a time when you really don't need crap! I hope it works out where she can stay a couple days at a time, like you planned.

My hips hurt so much at night too. I'll try your hanging off the side a of body pillow idea tonight.

I'm so anxious for labor and this baby! I shouldn't have checked I guess but last week I was atleast 4cm and 50% effaced so now I'm very anxious. I'm getting tired of being huge and unwieldy. I want to meet my baby now! I'm only 37 weeks and a day though so who knows how much longer the wait will be.

I tried the gluteal squeezes this morning and they did provide some relief. Thanks for the tip!

s and : to those who need it! (And for Angelorum's landlord.)

39 weeks today, and I'm cranky. I haven't been sleeping well, but I'm chalking it up to Mom rearranging my bedroom -- it just feels different. The cats have been driving me nuts at night, too (I keep them in my room).

My next midwife appointment is on Friday, where we'll have the "What If" talk about what my options are if I should go postdates. At my last check, I was already a good 3cm dilated and 75% effaced, so she said she wouldn't be surprised if I didn't even make it to my due date. All I've gotten out of my intuition is "soon." I haven't had any signs that labor is on its way.

I'm bored with waiting. And I know I'll never be "ready" for this, so whether he comes now or two weeks from now doesn't much matter...

I can not believe your landlord, Angelorum. Seriously, what is his problem! Definitely talk to your lawyer, it sounds like w/ this guy, you need to have your legal behind covered. NOT what you need to be doing right now...but it sounds like it's necesarry. Great big (((HUGS)))) to you for having to go through this! Hang in there!

: I ate almost 3 whole pineapples myself 2 weekends ago. I'm still in the "waiting for little one" club.

: I've also had mexican food, chinese food, and chicken parmesaean (my friend swears she knows three people who have gone into labor just after eating chicken parm).

For a few hours this morning, I thought today was going to be the day. I woke up early, while my dh was getting ready for work w/ contrax and low back ache. The contrax were not super painful, but were uncomfortable, definitely that "crampy" feeling. They weren't regular though, so I wasn't timing them. I almost kept dh home from work. I managed to fall back asleep, and woke up a couple hours later (ds graciously slept in today!). I had a couple more contrax this morning, but not much since then. Grrrr!!!!

Since then I've been to the park for playgroup, on a picnic, had a nap, the farmer's market, DQ and another park and walk after dinner. I think I had 3 contrax while walking at the park. That's it.

She's going to stay in there forever.

Angel- Your landlord is a piece of work! I can't believe you have to deal with this!

Learnlovebe- I too thought today was going to be my day. I guess not. Last night starting at 2am, and then many other times the rest of the day I had diarrhea and menstral cramping AND I finally dropped. I feel so much pressure down there too. I skipped our LLL mtg (my co-leader ran it herself) AND a get together afterwards, b/c I thought I'd be in labor by now. No go. I even called my mom just to give her a heads up that it might be soon, and she wanted to come over, but I told her to just wait. Now I am glad I told her to wait. With my 2nd pregnancy, I had a false call and had her come over and then it didn't end up being, "real" labor, just this prodromal labor garbage. I hope that those of us who are feeling ready will go into labor soon. I'm so anxious this time for this pregnancy to be over with!

Thinking about going for a pedi today to see if the foot massage thing helps.. I read yesterday that it is actually a pressure point on your ankle (4 fingers up above your anklebone) that is supposed to help move things, and sure enough, everytime I rub that spot for a few minutes- a few minutes later I have a strong BH ctx....not that that is getting things going per se, but it does seem to do SOMETHING.
I keep telling myself I am "done" trying all of these things that are supposed to work to get baby out- and then I find some other odd thing that is supposed to work....

today would be a good day, rainy, relaxy kind of dreary out- although allergies are making me feel like I am going to sneeze and he is just gonna pop out LOL!!

Well yesterday was an adventure. I drove Fiona to her clogging lesson (Eric was having tummy trouble) and when we got there (15 mins late ) no one was there. I'm really not sure what happened. Usually they will call if something happens. Anyway... So we decided to give up after about 10-15 mins and started to drive to Wal-Mart to get something for Eric's tummy. I got about a half a block and my van started to sound funny. I called Josh to see what I should do. I had made it about a block and a half by now. Then the sound stopped. Great! No, not great. I lost my power steering! So I drove another couple of blocks to find a place to pull over. As soon as I got pulled over I heard a ding and saw that my temp light was on. The gauge was all the way to "H". So I shut the van off real quick.
Did I mention it was about 101 out? And the heat index was about 105. Yeah. Great.
Luckily, we were about 2 blocks away from Josh's work. So I got our stuff ready, found my BabyHawk in the back of the van, threw Colleen up on my back (she had been sleeping and she didn't have shoes) and then we walked to the flour mill so we could sit in the office (with a/c! ) to wait for Josh.
It wasn't easy to wear Colleen since I don't wear her anymore. But it was so much easier than carrying her in arms! LOL I was so glad that I've made sure to keep at least one "just in case" carrier in the van this whole time.

Anyway. We had my mom come by and put the car seats in her car so she could take the kids on home. Then I helped Josh as he towed the van over to his work. He's hoping to work on it some today. We are a bit nervous with me being almost 38 weeks pregnant (tomorrow!) and no family car now. Josh has his truck, but we can't fit a baby seat into that. Thankfully, if baby comes before the van is fixed, we can borrow my mom's car or Josh's mom's vehicle to take to the birth center and bring the baby home in.

So, that was our adventure yesterday. LOL

leighann- GL on the car. That always happens at the worst possible time!
Angelorum- I hope you are able to find a new place to live at your own convenience and that this awful LL is left high and dry.
: To every mama waiting (not so) patiently!

I cant believe that there were 6 new birth announcements since I last came on here a few days ago! Will there be anyone left in another week?

My pre-labor symptoms had really slowed to nothing Sun-Tues until I got this crazy rush of nervous energy last night. It made me feel sick and miserable and my system started cleaning out. It was awful! I took a magnesium bath and slept peacefully so that was not real labor. I did have one interesting contraction that wrapped around one side of my back. Otherwise just normal BHs.

I have been cooking like a mad woman and have my freezer stash about half-way done. Most of my sewing is done too but I still have to string my birth necklace and weave my doula a basket. I think I will be mostly done with projects after this weekend (39w). I still go through moments of freaking out about baby coming between the calm acceptance that prevails.

Going to Harry Potter tonight! Anyone else? :::

Ugh, DH has either the flu or a very bad cold. Yesterday he stayed home from work but he decided to go in today. I'm really hoping I didn't catch it and that if I did catch it that labor waits until I get better. I pretty much did what I could to avoid becoming infected while taking care of DH but I know I could already be infected and just not showing any symptoms yet. Ugh.

Dh just called me and said the van is fixed! Cheap too. Yea!

I'm hoping to go to Harry Potter on Monday.

bajamergrrl-- Fingers crossed you don't get sick!

OK baby is totally and completely officially allowed to come now, because....

-My toes are done- they look like beautiful little redhots candies for the first time in AGES....

-Baby officially has 42 (!!) adorable little fluffy fitted diapers lined up in a drawer : I got fluffy mail from my mama who made 30 of them for me today! (the other 12, and 4 PUL covers and the most jacked up pair of longies ever... LOL... I did) :

Penstamom- I'm still have a lot of prodromal labor that is confusing to me. I really, REALLY want to go see HP. When my DH comes home, I think I am going to duck out and go to watch the movie. If I don't go now, I feel like I won't get to go until after the baby comes and that means bringing the baby with me. I've had the feeling since yesterday that the baby was coming, but now I feel totally irritated with my body. I don't know WHAT is going on. I have all the symptoms, but my contrax are just not regular enough for me to treat them like it's, "active" labor. I mean, geez, how many practice sessions does my body need???? This is my 3rd baby, I was hoping this one would practically just pop out on his own...

One of the only good things about going past my due date is that I can see Harry Potter tomorrow.

My parents are visiting and can watch our 2 DDs so if I don't go into labor anytime soon, DH and I are also planning to go see Harry Potter! That is a good thing about being late!
