What if he was retracted at the hospital?

I had to take my newborn to the hospital to be tested for the flu since my dr. didn't have any tests left. He had it incidentally. While there I think the nurse retracted his foreskin to get the urine sample. I didn't have time to stop her and I feel AWEFUL about it. I know that there's a natural seal there right? What happens now? Is it OK?

Most likely, everything is OK. The human body has an amazing ability to repair traumas and the normal adhesion of the foreskin and glans will re-form to gradually release over time when the time is right.

The only potential problem is if the skin was broken leaving a site for infection. Keep a watch on it for a few days and if nothing hapens, all is well.

The next action you need to take is to contact the hospital administrator and advise him of this highly inappropriate action and insist that all personnel that can come into contact with intact boys be properly trained in the care and manipulation of the foreskin. A letter from a lawyer would certainly get their attention and assure you that this has been done.

Thank you for the reply. I haven't noticed any redness. I will have his 4 mo. check soon. My dr. is very supportive of intact little boys so I will ask her then.
