how to prep my beginner stash?

So I got some parts of my newborn stash in the mail today! I bought from 2 different places. One gave me a nice handout on how to prep my Indian Prefolds.

From the other store, I bought some Thirsties and Kissaluvs doublers, and some PUL lined nursing pads with microfleece (I know, not diapers, but thought I'd ask anyway). I don't know if I'll need to do anything to these to prep them also - could anyone guide me? Same routine as for the prefolds, or something different? Also, I'm assuming that liners don't need prep'd since their job is to NOT absorb - correct me if I'm wrong.

TIA!

Cotton prefold diapers need to be prepped and "fluffed." Hemp products, such as prefolds and doublers/inserts, need to prepped to remove the natural oils. Most everything else needs nothing more than a single washing and drying...similar to how you would wash and dry any other "new" item.

HTH!

They should just need a washing or two, and they'll be fine. If the doublers are a natural fiber (like hemp), you'll need to prep them. I think boiling them is what most people do. Otherwise, just a normal washing.

One set of doublers is cotton terry/cotton fleece; the other is microfiber. So it looks like just a pre-wash will do the trick for the doublers, instead of a full prep.
