I have a dog name Hunny who we rescued from the pound and a cat named Samantha who we rescued on her 'last day' at the shelter.

How 'bout everyone else?

I have two rescue cats (both were stray pick ups) one is almost 12 and one is 8. I have a 9 1/2 year old lab mix rescue, a 5 month old great dane from a breeder, 5 rats, fish, chickens and ducks

We have 2 cats, a female (Zoey) we got as a kitty who's about 8 and a male (Norman) I found about a year ago and we doctored back to health. We also have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever we got as a puppy almost 9 years ago named Deuce.

I have 4 doggies (all inside), a Great Dane named Mira (short for Miracle), husky/collie x (Bailey), GSD/beagle x (Sierra), & sheltie/boxer x (Kayla). 2 cats (Jackson & Kitty), 3 snakes (ball pythons, 1 normal -2 morphs named Smoke, Lucy & Eve) and a tropical fish tank.

We are moving to a new house on 9 acres w/ a 3 acre lake in the next month and are planning on adding some ducks, chickens and possibly some rabbits or rats. Oh and some frogs. And crossing my fingers that my hubby will clear some land for us so I can finally have some horses :

We have two dogs. Chaos is a pound rescue that was past her holding time but was still there because someone was interested in her (except they never came to pick her up). She is likely a norwegian elkhound mix and is the smartest dog I've ever known. Sadly she outsmarts me on a regular basis. She loves everyone she meets, in the 6 years we've had her she has literally met 2 people she did not like.

Mayhem is a retired racing greyhound. He is our mellow guy and is content to snooze the day away except for walk and dinner time. He is most happy when he can keep an eye on me to make sure I'm still there, a true velcro dog. We took Chaos to the greyhound adoption group and she chose him from the group.

We have a four dogs: bloodhound (Nathan), a basset (Big Mo), a rescue cocker (Oreo), a rescue rat terrier (Tiny); two rescue kitties (Grey Kitty and Groucho); two unnamed peacocks; four horses: a grey mare (Calhoun), two Appaloosa geldings born and raised on our farm (Domingo and Zeke) and a rescue paint pony Taffy); and numerous goldfish in the two outside goldfish ponds.

We used to have ducks and chickens but something kept eating them so we gave up on them. And we also have several armadillos but we don't name them; we just hope they move on down the road.

I almost forgot- we also have a little baby oak snake that is living in the tree outside our house, but if he comes in he will be quickly relocated to the woods.

We have 3 nutty kitties 2 males Wall-E pastel grey and cream tabby (Ds named him so now we have all kinds of Wall-E stuff ) and the other one is Barney a huge black cat beautiful as can be! ( Ds was 2 when we brought him home and yes loved Barney but the name amazingly suites him!) and our little Lexie pastel calico ( I named her it took 4 days to get her named ) they are all from the SPCA Barney was there for sadly 4 months and he is the most amazing kitty ever he was 1 and a half when he came home he ended up extreamily sick so they allowed us to foster him then adopt him! Wall-E had a tiny cold and was about 7 months when he came home with us! Lexie was a kitten she was the most scared kitten I ever saw I went there to adopt an adult and went in to see the little ones and there she was sitting all scared in the cornner and even hissing a little I just could not leave her there and scooped her up and they people there said are you sure you want her I said of course and now she is my little sweetie and loves to play and cuddle! We have 2 beta fish they are beautiful!

Great Danes?!?!?! I want to see pictures! I am such a sucker for Danes. My last dog was a Great Dane, her Grandpa was also named Apollo. Her Aunt was also in several commercials and was in Beethoven 2. They are such fantastic dogs. I am totally biased

I have Penny Lane , who i rescued from a no kill shelter in 2002. She is whippet and boston mix.

Charles Foster Kane, he is alot bigger now. He was born on my dd's bday, and is now abou 6 months old. We got him from a buffalo farm He is a Aussie/German Shorthair Pointer or Lab...not sure yet.

Then there is Mr Bojangles and Oliver. We adopted them about 3 years ago, at the Humane Society. Mr Bo, was an adult rescued from hurricane Rita, and had been there way too long, and was depsrate for a home, and Oliver was a crazy fluff ball that was stealing all the other cats toys. The adoption person could believe that i wanted that "crazy mean kitten", he is the biggest baby in the world now, and jump up in my arms to be held and carried all day! LOl! They gave us a 2 for 1 deal, and ended up taking Mr Bo home with us aswell, and he is the BEST cat ever!

And our fish! PeanutButter (freckled one) And Jelly (big orange one), Little Jelly (little orange one) Mittens (we have Mittens II now, DH was cleaning out the fish tank and sucked up Mittens eye in the vacume thing, and he passed away later that night poor thing) and Bolt (R.I.P. 6/23/09) The white one.

I'm probably one of the most common posters on the cat topics here because of extensive experience owning and exhibiting persians...even a little breeding experience long ago! Considering how much I love cats, we're a little 'low on the numbers'. We currently live with three retired showcats.

OMG, that cat does look huge!!!

I think a lot of it is dependant on their bone structure too. 12 pounds wouldn't be out of the norm for male persians. My male persian is nearly 12 pounds. His paws and bone structure though is super thick though, and he's solid muscle and a BIG cat.

However, if you put 12 pounds on our new girl she'd be obese. She's not heavily boned and she's 'healthy' at 7 pounds. Ideally she'd be more like 8!
