Conceiving question

I was curious about fertility and conceiving. Has anyone noticed a correlation between the time it took to conceive different babies? Or I assume everyone is different and each time could be very diffent. For example, were each of your children conceived at relatively the same amt. of time or were they totally different? For me, it took 1 or 2 cycles to get pregnant with all 3 of my pregnancies. Is there any scientific research about this? Just curious!

Oddly enough my three successful pregnancies were all exactly 23.5 months apart. When dd turned 24 months I was so sure I was going to get pg that month but alas I broke the rule this time.

I managed to conceive first try both times- much to my husband's dismay, he wanted lots of 'practicing' .

Because the chance for getting pregnant any given month that you do everything right is only around 25%, if you get it first try every time then you are lucky... but not all that lucky because you still have a pretty good chance of that happening.

With my three... they happened on three very unreliable forms of birth control! First was a pull-out method... my son was from a condom that did not break (was put on before the act, taken off after the act and there was no physical contact after it was off) and my daughter was thanks to birth control pills and possibly the effect that hypothyroidism can have on them.

So... when I can try again next year and we use no birth control at all... I expect it to be a while before I get pregnant LOL because of COURSE the most effective birth control for me seems to be actually trying to get pregnant. We have had 5 cycles where we got the timing right, and nothing yet.

In my case, ignorance was bliss. LOL With my first, I was very young and irresponsible. It still took my partner- at- the- time and I about a year of unprotected sex to get accidently pregnant. We did the pull out method back then a lot but I was oblivious to tell you the truth....

With my second son, I was in my early twenties and I planned intercourse mid cycle and then within two cycles I was preggo.

This time around, I have been using opk's and keeping close track of my cycles and we haven't caught the egg yet.

I got pregnant with my DS on the second month of trying. I was young and impulsive and didn't think about it for long (best decision ever though!! ) Last pregnancy, first shot. Literally, as we weren't even going to TTC for a while and then there was this last minute, unprotected "ok, let's just try this one time and see what happens" during my suspected fertile window. So I'm with MaerynPearl. REALLY trying seems to be pretty effective BC : If it doesn't happen for me soon, I'm "taking a month or 2 off". Think the universe will fall for it?

This time, we're so past ready it's not even funny, and this is month 4 of trying. My suspicion is that I have a fertile season, rather than a time frame. I got pregnant with my son in July, and my little one in August. So... I'm : that I'll be getting a BFP here soon!

With our 1st it was literally our first month ttc ... I was charting and we were "trying" every other day through my fertile time and that worked well. With our 2nd I was still bfing our 1st but had gotten my cycles back so we tried and the first month got pg but had a chemical pg and then that 2nd cycle it was once during that fertile time and I got pg with our 2nd. With our last baby my cycles were really long and I was still bfing our 2nd ... so it took us about 2 months but really it happened on our 2nd cycle, I think.

first time, 3 cycles
second time, 14 cycles.

No correlation here.
