Adsense?

Thread Starter
i apologize if this is a common question--i've never been to this particular forum before.

i write an environmental blog and wondered if putting Adsense on is a good idea or not. Is there a catch?

Thanks!

No catch, I'm an eco-blogger and have AdSense. I was doing quite well until they switched the way they serve the ads and my revenues are down by about 2/3 even though my pageviews are up drastically. They target ads now and IMO, their targeting kinda bites hehe.

Depending on your blog traffic, it may take a while for you to earn your first $100 to receive payment. Some people don't like AdSense but for me, it was a relatively decent income stream until recently. I'm re-evaluating my monetization strategy now, though.

Hey, you can opt out of interest based ads on the adsense site. Look in the help section for instructions.

I would not put Adsense on your blog unless

1. You are doing basic SEO and targeting specific keywords in your blog posts

2. Have at least 100 visitors a day

3. Have a decent amount of backlinks from other sites

This is just my opinion based on my experience.

And My Two As--I visited your site, I had to look super hard to find your google ads. You may want to play around a bit with ad placement--I'm not sure what you have is optimal. Other than that--nice site!

Thanks V, I opted out and we'll see if my revenues go back up.
