Talk to me about Gardasil.

I'm in the middle of a debate on another board. I keep getting insistence of "It's just as safe as any other vaccine!" and "Ask a doctor! Ask 10 doctors! You'll see then." Riiiight. Because asking someone who has a vested interest in promoting Gardasil and who's career will be at risk if he speaks out against it will give 100% reliable information.

I need info about the risks of the vax (especially compared to other vaxes), its effectiveness, and the propaganda campaigns. Thanks for your help!

If a person is not willing to look for independent info beyond what their doctor tells them, then I wouldn't bother. All one has to do if google Gardasil and adverse reactions and you can spend the day reading about girls whose lives have been forever changed or losty due to this vaccine.

Hi, Timely question.

I was just researching this myself and came across this from the FDA. (And please note: this is from 2007!)

Here is more anecdotal stuff from Erin Brockovich's blog:

See mother's comments at bottom ~ definitely scary!

BTW, an OB/GYN at Mt. Sinai Hospital, NYC, told me (many years ago) that "if a woman in the bush of Africa for instance, got cervical dysplasia from HPV and did nothing - only one in ten would develop cervical cancer." Today cervical dysplasia can be treated with freezing (cryo) or laser ablation.

IMHO, regarding Merck's inccessant advertising campaign - instead of "one less" - get One MORE - (PAP SMEAR that is!)
